Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a rule set using a specific card and on this week's post it is a battle with the Fab Four rule set. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.
Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Fab Four and Keep Your Distance. This means only 4 monsters can be placed and no melee monsters can be used. There is also 50 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire, water, life, or dragon splinter.

The summoner I choose to use this time is Quix the Devious. It reduces my enemy's ranged attack and speed by 1.

I plan to use Runemancer Atuat as my tank. It also has headwinds to reduce range attack and forcefield to reduce any damage 5 or higher into 1. The focus on my team is Iziar in the back with taunt and void. Along with my summoner and Runemancer, any ranged damage will be severely decreased. I also have Spirit Hoarder with triage to heal my Iziar. My main damage dealer is Chaos Dragon with its blast and scattershot. This will allow it to take out my opponent's backline.
Round 1

At first glance, I this will be a tough match. My opponent has a level advantage and my enemy's summoner also has triage. So my Chaos Dragon won't be as effective.
Round 4

Both me and my opponent lost a monster. However, I am at a large disadvantage because I have Spirit Hoarder up front.
Round 5

Both me and my opponent lost another monster again. I am at a disadvantage though because I can't heal my taunt monster and my opponent can heal his damage through Life Leech and Triage.

As I expected, I lost the match. I was close to finishing off my opponent but I was unable to kill off my opponent fast enough.
Conclusion
The battle did not go as I expected. I did have a chance to win if I dodged a few attacks or if the position of my Chaos Dragon and Spirit Hoarder were swapped. I chose to put Chaos Dragon in the last spot because of the blast but my opponent did not have the blast ability in this fight. I did have a pretty powerful lineup with the void, taunt, and triage. However, my opponent was able to counter my damage using Triage and I was unable to take out my opponent fast enough. It might have been possible for me to win this match if my Chaos Dragon scattershot landed on the right monsters but it's random for a reason.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players play in a ruleset.
