Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a rule set using a specific card and on this week's post it is a battle with the Equalizer rule set. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

rule set.pngThe ruleset this time is melee mayhem and equalizer. This means that all monsters lose their abilities and all monsters get the enrage ability. There is also 19 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire, earth, or dragon splinter.

The summoner I choose to use this time is Obsidian. In a match like this, I think that increasing my damage will be more worthwhile and it's likely for a shield or thorns monster to be upfront.

My plan is just to have a lineup using my filler monsters that can't attack upfront. Then I have all my damage dealers afterward. I don't think I have to worry about Sneak as much because of the +2 armor and equalizer rule set.

Round 1

round 1.png
At the first glance of my opponent's lineup, I think I have the stronger lineup due to the magic lineup and I also have +2 armor from one of my cards. So it will end up being a battle of endurance to see if I can live longer than my opponent.

Round 2

round 2.png
I lost one monster but my opponent did not lose any monsters. The speed difference does hurt but my damage dealers have not been damaged yet.

Round 3

round 3.png
This time I was able to take out 2 monsters on my opponent's side so the damage that I will take dropped a lot. I will out damage my opponent so I don't think there will be any issues.

Round 4

round 4.png
I killed off another monster without taking any damage so this match is mine. There is no way for my opponent to win because magic is unavoidable against his lineup.

A turn later, I was able to win the match as I expected.

Conclusion

The battle this time around went exactly as I expected. The lineup I went for had fillers for monsters and having failed summoner boosted the starting health on all my cards. This benefitted me against my opponent because I don't think so many of my cards would have lived as long otherwise. The magic damage did its work even if my lineup was slow. So in this way, the summoner I picked was a good match but I don't understand why my opponent threw a ranged monster in the middle of his lineup. I think I could have also lost if he had some of his cards leveled up because my opponent was using a level 1 summoner. Maybe I can just say that it is a bot playing on the other side.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players play in a ruleset.
