Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a battle with a new promo card and on this week's post. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because they get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process. You can test them in a challenge with another player using ghost cards as the card selection.

Featured Card

Delya is an neutral splinter that costs 9 mana. It starts off with the double strike ability. It learns amplify at level 2, dodge at level 3 and backfire at level 10. I have this card at level 8 so it does have the heal ability. I use it from time to time because it works well as a tank. As we are using ghost cards, I decided to test out this card at its max level. I don't have a copy of this card yet.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

rule set.pngThe ruleset this time is CounterspellWhat Doesn't Kill You, and Fog of War. This means that all monsters gain the magic reflect and enrage ability. Also, sneaksnipe, and opportunity are removed. There is also 33 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire, earth, death, or dragon splinter.

The summoner I chose to use this time is Mylor for its thorns. I have lost a lot of battles against this card so I decided to go with this summoner.

I plan to use Chain Golem as my tank because it reduces all damage by half. Then I have Bramble Pixie in second with reach and heal. My third monster and fourth monsters are fillers with support abilities such as slow, swiftness, and inspire. My 5th monster is Delya as my damage dealer. My last monster is a tank healer because I want Chain Golem to survive as long as possible.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that I have the advantage in the match. My opponent is relying on quite a few melee monsters so I don't see myself having any issues. I have more damage and the only issue is that last monster because it can heal itself. However, I believe that my damage will overcome that.

Round 2

round 2.png
The enrage is helping me out as that allowed me to take out my opponent's tank in one round. I don't see myself losing this match because I will be able to take out the monsters and push that last ranged monster up front.

I won later that round.

Conclusion

The battle went exactly as I expected. The thorns helped out quite a bit to remove the melee monsters and that gave me the win. Delya worked extremely well as a damage dealer as 8 damage per turn is quite a lot. I do feel that I had a easy fight but I did ask my friend who quit to do a battle with me. He hasn't played Splinterlands in a long time so his lineup wasn't the greatest, but I do think that this shows how useful Delya can be because the damage plus amplify ability boosted my damage

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players play in a ruleset.
