Splinterlands: Buying Grandmaster Rath and improving some more cards

By jfang003 | jfang003 | 6 Oct 2023

Splinterlands has been a challenging game lately and I have been considering what I could do to improve my own win rate. I have decided that I want to move up to Gold rank so I plan on buying some cards and preparing for that. I have focused on my chaos legion again this time with one Riftwatchers card as well. The fights in splinterlands are still hard and having these leveled up cards can help me in my fights. I have been struggling and I am already seeing more wins using the summoner that I bought today.

Above are the cards that I purchased: Water Caller, Grandmaster Rathe, Supply Runner, Chaos Agent, Hardy Stonefish, and Hill Giant using Monster Market. I get back part of what I paid for the cards and I prefer using this when I am buying directly off the market. I did make a mistake and bought the wrong gold foil card but I will make sure to take that into consideration for next time.

The price of HBD hasn't been above the peg when I checked a few times during the week so I used the remaining HBD that I had in my account for this purchase. The HBD was gained from my author rewards over the past week and I will be continuing to use them to buff up my deck.

Grandmaster Rath

The first card I wanted to get is Grandmaster Rath and I bought 3 BCX to have it at level 3. This summoner costs 6 mana to use and it increases armor by 1, void armor and amplify. I have lost a few fights due to this card and I thought that it would be a good addition to my deck because I can combine this card with resurrect and repair to make a tanky lineup.

Water Caller

The 2nd card is Water Caller and I bought 24 BCX to increase this card to level 4. This is a water card and I don't use it much. However, it has the stun ability. It has more health and magic attack so it will make this more useful. I never really used it at level 1 because stun wasn't that appealing with it's low magic attack.

Supply Runner

The 3rd card is Supply Runner and I bought 13 BCX of this card to increase it to level 5. This is an neutral card and it learned the swiftness ability. I always envied people with this card because the extra speed can be the difference between a win and a loss.

Chaos Agent

The 4th card is Chaos Agent and I bought 9 BCX of this card to increase it to level 5. This netrual card has the dodge ability. As a 1 mana card, I do use it from time to time and it has more health with this upgrade.

Hardy Stonefish

The 5th card is Hardy Stonefish and I bought 13 BCX to increase this card to level 5. This water card doesn't have any skill but increasing it to level 4 does increase it's speed. I mainly upgraded it so that it decreases the battle penalty that I receive and because it's mana cost is 1.

Hill Giant

The last card is Hill Giant and I bought 13 BCX to increase this card to level 5. This neutral card does not have any skill but the increase in levels does give it one more health. I do use this card from time to time and increasing it's health will benefit me as it could possibly survive an extra attack. It's also a low mana card to use in regards to it's stats.

Battle

This is a battle that I did use one of my newly upgraded cards (Grandmaster Rath). Grandmaster Rathe showed it's prowness as the void armor kept my backline alive even from the reflect. At the same time, combining resurrect and repair kept me alive long enough to kill off my opponent. I didn't lose a single card because of two resurrect and repair cards that I had.

Conclusion

I bought some cards to help me out in ranked battles and it will also decrease the penalty that I get from fights. I am funding this through my blog earnings. I am slowly improving my deck so that I don't suffer as much of a penalty and it also improves my own win-rate with all the new options.
