Why Scavenger & Bloodlust Cards Shine in Born Again Battles

Why Scavenger & Bloodlust Cards Shine in Born Again Battles

By Bhatt_G | Bhattg | 25 Aug 2026

Hello Splinterlands players, how are you? I hope you had a good last season. Mine didn't go so well, as I only reached a maximum rating of 900. That was even worse in the Wild model. I hope my ratings will improve in this upcoming season, and I'll be able to collect more records. I've bought some cards from the reports I was collecting this season, and that's why I'm trying to strengthen my card holdings. Today, through this post, I'm going to share a really great metal with you all, which I think you'll find very interesting and learn a lot.

As you can see, the mana cap was 43 and I could use all the elements, but I have some really good element cards, with excellent levels. While I have a lot of Emperors in the wild, I have a good level of Emperors, but there are some Emperors that I use frequently and find them really fun. The reason I use them frequently is that they are quite powerful, and using them allows me to use more aggressive cards.

Rulesets :

  • Born Again -

All units have Rebirth (self-resurrects once per battle with 1 health and 100% of armor; all magic debuffs are removed, and all magic buffs are reapplied; skips turn).

You can see the ruleset used during this battle. According to this ruleset, any card that is defeated once is reborn with reduced health, not as much as it would have in real life. It only has one health, and it must survive on that.

  Summoner

S.No My Opponent

1. Helios Matriarch Kaylia Silverleaf

  Monster

S.No My Opponent

1. Venari Marksrat Dread Tafarian

2. Quora Towershead Silverleaf Warlock

3. Dhampir Infiltrator Sorrow Harvester

4. Goblin Psychic Blackmoor Wild Elf

5. Aranduriel Virid Venomancer

6. Zyvax Vuul Ash Archer

As you can see, the cards I used during this battle were interesting. It was even more interesting because the level of my cards was quite good when compared to my own net cards. Some of my cards ranged from level 1 to level 3, but most of my open cards were level 1. See, the winners are often the ones who have good positioning of the engine's cards and those who come up with a strategy that is a little unique and difficult to defeat.

If you look closely at this battle, the first card in opponent line up, which easily increases its health. However, the biggest weakness of any card is that if it has armor but low health, then if the opponent has cards with Magic Power, they are adversely affected. If you look at this battle, all the cards I used had good speed. Yes, there are some cards that have lower speed. The Open Net cards also had good speed, but their health was quite low, which gave me a significant advantage.

I was using some cards that had so much power that it helped me to gradually clean up the opponent's cards. Whenever you face this type of ruleset, try to use cards with abilities like the Scavenger ability. If you use such cards, they prove to be very beneficial in your battles, and now they are a huge help. I hadn't included such cards in battles before, but I still had some cards with the Blood Lost ability. They proved to be very beneficial, and by the end of the battle, I had about five cards left, only losing one, which is a good thing.

Sometimes, some battles are so interesting that we don't focus on the rewards and are happy with whatever records we get because the battle was so good. This is one such battle that I really enjoyed and felt I should share it with you all.
