After my first interview to Lord Pablo (can be found here for those who missed it) I'm writing about Non Fungible Drugs again because today, finally, they released their white paper, that will reveal some aspects of the project that until today were confidential.
From the first interview we found out that NFD is a play-to-earn game that will allow its players to choose their own strategy in order to become a Drug Lord, and we had an early look to the game's basic mechanics. Now, thanks to the WP, we can finally know a bit more about it.
I really liked the intro and the choice to introduce Fibonacci into the plot, referring to such a mathematician has been funny and brilliant at the same time. Now we know a bit more who Lord Pablo is and what's his goal: finding someone worthy to inherit Pheebo, this imaginary world where drugs are not just totally legal but a primary economic resource! Another thing I found interesting is the NFD - Syndicate, which makes me think that the players will have a really important role inside the project. So far, being also part of their Discord community, I can totally say that they met their promises.
Back to the WP: now we know that those non fungible drugs won't be the only items in the game but there will be henchmen (who can be a Lord without an army?), tools, weapons, vehicles and territories. All these items will have different rarities and it will be possible to blend them together to upgrade their rarity level. Right now NFD players can already blend their drugs here.
I think that this blending feature is pretty useful, it helps you to keep your wam inventory tidy and you don't have to overload it with the NFDs that you can already collect through their numerous giveaways. Another intriguing thing was the "Vault" feature that, from what they wrote, will have three different functions (Classic, Lucky and Collection). Since they revealed some details about the classic one, I guess it'll be the first to become available.From what I can see this feature will allow you to stake the NFDs you already own to get something in return on a regularly basis.
Non fungible drugs are completely different from real ones, and another difference is that they will be minted through some 3D printers that seem to be related to the drug's variety (sativa, indica and hybrid). From what I understood, these printers will be available even before the beta version. Maybe for the Vault feature? We will find out soon, hopefully!
Last but not least, and personally it's the part that got me thrilled more than any others: the territory sale. Many blockchain games have lands, obviously, but here it seems that there'll be territories (that would give some benefits to the owners) and neighborhood (where I guess NFDs would be produced, still with benefits for the lucky owners). These territories would have some sort of internal ranking, which I think will include rewards, and other features like the market, the vault and the Syndicate's office. That's a lot of info and I'm really curious to see how this ambitious project will evolve.
What else? Well, other than the packs sale (which we don't know when it's going to happen, but I won't miss it) I think that this project has everything to become a high-profile game and the NFD-rush has already started!
