Among the probable airdrops coming in the crypto world, there is a particularly interesting one, which involves no financial investment on the part of us novice hunters.
It is ZetaChain, a project by ZetaLabs that aims to solve the problem of the interoperability of blockchains, i.e. their ability to communicate and exchange digital assets. Many approaches have been tried in recent years, but that of ZetaLabs could be a winner. Launched in July 2021, ZetaChain plans to launch a layer 1 blockchain designed to connect different networks agnostically, i.e. in an unbiased manner. All this, without having to exploit bridges or wormholes, tools already used for this purpose with questionable results (especially from a security point of view).

ZetaChain in this framework is configured as a ‘metalayer’, i.e. an Omnichain that, through a single Smart Contract, interacts on the front end with a dApp and on the back end with the various supported blockchains. The image shown can provide a clearer idea of how this works.

The ZetaChain app is currently in the testing phase and it is possible to transact between four different testnets: Bitcoin, Ethereum Goerli, BSC, and Polygon Mumbai. The user will have the opportunity, without the risk of losing funds, to experience the exchange between these networks of the ZETA token and the major network tokens (BTC, BNB, MATIC, ETH). For each weekly swap made, the user will be awarded 7000 points which, when accumulated, allow them to climb the leaderboard on the site.
Participating in the testnet could, and I stress could, allow testers to be eligible for the hypothetical airdrop of the ZETA token, which is supposed to be distributed at the launch of the mainnet. In the video I briefly show you how to use the Omnichain dApp, and how to request test tokens and exchange them via blockchain.
Although there are no official announcements, actively participating in the ZetaChain testnet would seem to be one of the ways to apply for the possible airdrop. Other actions that could help you are:
- Invite other users to participate in the testnet. If you sign up with this link: https://labs.zetachain.com/leaderboard?code=vlY8WPYBw5qMbuCPB-lly, you will get your first 5000 ZETA Points. Once your Twitter account and wallet are connected, you will be able to generate your referral link, which will allow you to earn, and have earned, 5000 ZETA Points for each enrolled tester user;
- Join ZetaChain’s Discord server, request funds on the testnet via their faucet, participate in the community discussion from time to time;
- Try to collect NFTs that the project launches on Galaxe and complete quests on their Guild.
In conclusion, I would like to reiterate that the airdrop of the ZETA token has not been confirmed, so far this is only speculation. In any case, as there are no real funds to invest, in my opinion it is worth giving it a try. At worst, you will be left with the experience of having tested a tool that could revolutionise the concept of blockchain interoperability.
