As we all know that the internet is all about content. We are amidst a shift when it comes to the way we look at the content on the internet, In reference to the famous content aggregators like steemit, youtube, Instagram, dtube, medium etc.
I came to know about Publish0x through steemit and on a first look, it looked very promising. Another platform distributing cryptocurrencies and providing an opportunity for the content creators. The highlights of Publish0x in my view was that it not only provided a source of rewards to not only Authors but readers as well. That made it look different from all other Platforms.
When I talk about the way of tipping on Publish0x The most important part of Publish0x is the tipping system where the reader gets to decide the percentage of the tip, he wants to share with the author. I love this feature where a reader can tip according to the quality of the Content.
Now my confusion starts when I look at the present scenario and content rewards on Publish0x where admins make claims that they control the quality content on the website/platform. The tipping slider beginning from the 20% tip share to the authors and 80% can be kept by the readers.
I believe that this platform is all about making some earnings through the medium of content creation but I see a lack of encouragement for authors with this present reward system.
It takes a lot of time and effort to write an article and authors are the ones behind the creation of the content, which gives the readers power to tip on the basis of the quality of the content/article. Here the problem is since this platform is all about distributing the reward over the content, anything less then 50% to either side does not reflects neutrality.
So my thought behind writing this article that if the slider is set at 50% for either party, readers would still have the option to increase and decrease the reward on the basis of the quality. This will not only encourage the authors to write and post quality but also would give readers a chance to read good content. 50% reward seems fair to all.
I would like to know your thoughts on this but as there is no comment section (which is again, not fair!) How can an author live without knowing what others think about his work?
