By mid-December 2024, Bloomberg predicted a series of new approvals for crypto ETFs.
Bloomberg has been optimistic about the possibility of different cryptocurrencies receiving validation for the implementation of financial products like ETFs. Litecoin, HBAR, XRP and SOL are the 2025 predictions for Bloomberg. Bloomberg analysts predict this wave of crypto ETFs in 2025, potentially facilitated by a change in leadership at the SEC.
These predictions are based primarily on changes to the SEC’s head, which have recently been implemented. It will still be necessary to wait to know whether the intentions are indeed to allow new crypto ETFs. March and April could be decisive because until then, the new teams will have time to position themselves on the subject. In the meantime, it is very likely that a powerful lobby will be set up with the SEC to push for as many ETFs as possible. It is therefore possible that other assets will be added to this list.

The thinking around Litecoin is that it’s a fork of Bitcoin, for Hbar because the asset isn’t labeled as “security”. For Solana and XRP, analysts believe that this will mainly come because of the ‘level of use’ of its assets.
As a reminder, the implementation of crypto ETFs is a very recent phenomenon that began less than a year ago. Even if a new US administration could accelerate the movement, It is good to keep a cool head and follow the upcoming statements of the different administrations. April seems to be a good target in terms of timing for Litecoin and HBAR. For Solana and XRP things seem more uncertain at the moment and we will have to wait for details. Despite this, asset managers such as Bitwise, VanEck, 21Shares and Canary Capital have reiterated their demands for Solana ETFs, anticipating an imminent favourable decision in a potential $300 billion market by 2030.
