Dear cypherpunks - we love you where ever you are!! Thanks for just drawing breath!!
It's great to meet here on the the irresistible powerhouse of the Publish0x.
Lifting the crypto fabric of the FT one post at a time!!
Crypto that doesn't say crypto: The pound hit 35 year lows, the yen 24. Rates are going up around the world, US, EU, Canada. But no one is moving to the Taylor rule mark of ABOVE the rate of inflation! So not clear what, other than stagnation, this all does.
We skip to the chase: the FT print cold shoulder for crypto today. Crypto is mentioned once, get this - an article about Elon vs Twitter takes time to mention CRYPTO scammers took over twitter accounts in 2020. Oh well, we love ya anyway FT. Thanks for nothing.
AHA though, there IS crypto in the FT today! Right here:
TLDR: new finance minister Kwasi looks pretty happy! The big news is Kwasi is pushing bills to allow ministers to challenge City reg hammers if the reghammering holds back competition. Sounds great.
The REAL story: Kwasi wrote a book called Britland Unchained about cutting regs. The FT keeps saying now is not the time for Britannia Unchained.
Not in the FT, but because we love ya: This IS crypto news, cuz Kwasi's old department wrote a paper that said crypto is one of seven technology families that will transform the UK. We want to throw FU dust for the no crypto part but judges say hush.
Online??? Not a drop. Guess we had too much crypto to think online yesterday, we should be thankful. Might have to just go funny crypto hunting ELSEWHERE, FT, it's not like we can't take a hint (we can't.)
Well that was fun with Kwasi secretly being crypto relevant. Let's do it again!!
Here's a big ass article about Hipgnosis.
TLDR: who cares. The FT does NOT mention Hipgnosis loves NFTs. Of COURSE they don't.
Doesn't fit the narrative of the FT's crypto cold shoulder.
We could do this all night tho!! Here's another:
TLDR: It's the great reversal, after the great moderation, a slide into stagflation.
Crypto hero Austrian style Uncle Milt the freedom economist sez Inflation is always monetary. The FT pays homage and then undercuts the whole thing, it's crypto funny. Oh, it's all different THIS time!! We are in a deep debt trap where raising rates is gonna hurt a lot. Letting inflation run will hurt many more.
We could go on, but that's plenty of crypto love that is NOT in the FT for tonight.
Which is FUNNY!!!
Peace out,
Love
Dave
