Cryptonauts, we love you. May your space stations be heavenly. Time flies when ye are having fun like we do here with y'all on the timeline that includes Overton windowing crypto up & over on the earth-shattering Publish0x!!
Today's love letter to the pink lady, long may she wave!! With love. It's funny, working with Brits, over the top means insane and foolhardy. As a damn yank if means great, awesome, a breakthough!! yargh. We need a punk rock love song here's one
Yeah we're sticking with the first date theme here. Last gasp of hopes for Indian summer. Summer's almost over!! LET"S MAKE IT LAST FOREVER!!!
Crypto in the FT! Monday so none on the front page, let it go wee radge joe!!! NO WE CAN"T
Hey didja know? Morningstar, the supposed research company providing "trusted" market data, who CAN'T BE ARSED TO FIND A BTC OR ETH PRINT ON A MONDAY, erm,
Morningstar is being SUED by, who ?? three guesses? The SEC, THAT's who. Not just a nasty website notice listing fake phone numbers, not a probe, not just a subpoena, no, an actual lawsuit as Morningstar violated US federal securities laws for rating CMBS's, commercial mortgage backed.
That was 2021. The suit hasn't gone away, like multiple drunk driving charges, just gotten more specific in 2022. Gary's gang at the SEC sez Morningstar actually allowed their own analysts to adjust credit rating models, which resulted in lower payouts to investors. Thanks ratings monkeys!!!
Now the JUDGE, in a court of LAW, as the FT likes to quote, keeps it going in favor of the SEC, says Morningstar had No effective internal controls, failed to tell the public how the rating system "worked."
As Morningstar does, when you too lazy, biased and corrupt to find a crypto quote for the front page World Indices on a Monday, and instead leave a nasty insulting white (well pink) space, just saying
Morningstar SCANDAL!!! No crypto on Mondays!! Yeah, that lil SEC case's gotta hurt as well.
OK moving ON with LOVE in with the good air!!
Crypto in the print FT today ! NOTHING!! ok we feel the cold cold shoulder big dawg. But crypto that won't say crypto? FULL UP!!
The IMF is printing fiat for FIVE countries in default RIGHT NOW. No surprises, the IMF hit a new record for dishing fiat in 2020. Then another one in 2021. So far this year, already hit a new record, 140 billion smackers thus far!!
Kwasi's getting carpet bombed. he's trying to invoke Thatcher. Dear readers know we love Mo El-Erian at Allianz, Mo sez the UK is going for growth with an unfunded stimulus, which means this is 1972, which is about the nastiest economic thing anyone can say in living memory!!! Maggie Hatchet had some kind of economy to work with in 1979.
Hey! Here's a BIG READ on Brazil!! for sure THAR will be crypto!!
ahh, never mind.
Crypto that says crypto online - we get one drab drib. Well, it's FRAMED as drab. Here:
TLDR: the FT takes a MASSIVELY positive crypto interview and focuses on the one cheezy spot.
Bravo tweets that "BTC stands tall as the ultimate store of value." He has investments across the crypto ecosystem. He loves Sammy, Bravo would put more $$ into FTX if he gets the chance.
At the very conference of the interview, Mikkail. CIO of ATP, Denmark's largest pension fund, calls private equity a pyramid scheme. Turns out just like Broken Arrows tried to unethically flip their Derebit investment, private equity HAS been flipping investments to each other to manipulate their internal rate of return IRR to juice numbers.
ANYWAY THE POINT IS : this beautiful soul Orlando gets his smiling picture in the FT, buy five copies for mom!! There he is posing in Cannes as you do, it's all good. Then POW his big headline in the FT is CRYPTO BAD.
Zoom out for hypocrisy. The actual story is Bravo made efftons, some through SPACS, which should be reformed and have now kinda died as Ibankers made $$ when NO ONE else did. Bravo also hit it to the tune of 100,000,000,000 AUM with LBO's, buyouts of companies like Stamps.com.
Bravo points out that crypto is just young. Also regular markets are like a pyramid scheme, then. Fidelity buys from Capital Group who buys from a rando hedge fund.
So Bravo, this massive winner in tradfi private equity loves crypto, has 1.5 billion in a growth fund, already has a stake in the staking Web3 shop Figment and cryptosecurity TRM labs plus the two institutional crypto platforms Anchorage and FalconX. TWO!!! And this is the headline Bravo gets hung on him by the haters at the FT.
We wanna CORRECTION!! real headline: Another tycoon takes tradfi money to show BIG LOVE for crypto, investing across the board, evangelizing in Miami for BTC. Bravo calls Sam Fried one of the greatest entrepreneurs he has ever come across.
small note: Oh yeah, ha ha, private equity is a ponzi, ha ha, all markets are ponzis then, ha ha SPACS were a scam, oh yeah crypto is not that mature so there are some problems there "that will get fixed over time."
Have a FU for that headline and misframing, FT. Twist one small offhand comment into the nasty headline and lead. Then wonder wonder wonder why the next crypto loving man won't talk to y'all. For shame.
Where is the love for cryptonauts?? right here baby, we love y'all! Have a great night whenever that is.
Peace out
love
Dave
