FT crypto watch May 9 - 13

Cryptonauts we love you!! & apparently y'all and the algo love us a lot more when we stay the eff out of the FT!!

& even tho we are not that bright mighty Watch Army, we must admit we are a lot happier outside of the cryptonegative FT.

Here we look back and laugh reading music TLDR: ahh that's better!! Were we right to dump the pink lady?  Let's see - a nothingburger to say FTX da33eb1e7b365ec334cc3e9a3bbbbac89df4e3da0d0c35e67935a6f1fbaa1edd.pngTLDR: we don't CARE!!!  AH ha ha HA ! Inside baseball flying monkey lawyer talk.  Have an FU!! NEXT!!

This story is REALLY DEEPLY funny, but ya have to know the back story.  Which is, dear readers will recall, that THE Most powerful lobbying group in the City went flat out begging the FCA to approve some basic simple muni bond regulations to allow adoption of crypto to increase alpha!! & DUMP costs!! and of course the "Yes Minister" crew just smothered the whole thing with a pillow, we never heard about it again.  Now today, the NEXT most powerful lobbying group says "oh yessir, we are scared of them cryptos.  Why, even laws made against crypto might give it an air of respectability, sir!! "

c9471148b4786b47b1a59fd6355e7bec7d8e1b701fce0c39652aee4ae7fd1e04.pngTLDR: ah hah hah ha ha ha ha!

OK admittedly, our view of crypto in the UK is downtrodden as viewed thru the FT.  But dear readers remember it's funny that in THIS timeline we have made it back to the rightful place, where London is just a tad looser with the reghammer than the US.

We would never know it from the FT ah ha ha ha but Binance came out and SAID it 880ad321c8aee1e93e4ea7eb7036b021ae5e550c994457d0cf29e0d3032703a1.pngTLDR: overexposed nasty subliminal photo used for the fifth? Sixth? time now

IRL, it's funny not funny.  Disruptor Revolut just lost their CEO after he waited two years for the $(#&#$(#& FCA to move their arse and give out licenses.

Here, the FT lists every negative copypasta they have, which is a LOT.  The FUNNY parts?  For example:  These ($#&$(*&#@(  say Binance  "abandoned" the bid for Voyager without saying the SEC objected to the deal from the beginning and never relented.  Without favour ah ha ha !!  Have a FU!!

Not for nothing, but coming to London, staying up drinking like a fish, bad food, jetlagging, and your hotel is not that comfy, it can look hard.  Unrelated pic: 56c98ba749528edd64f6305536e1f4a78b7be54725ae2575c42dfe2d2512faee.pngTLDR: Cryptomom takes the stage, but it's a crypto conference run by the FT so nothing happens.

Finally, the cryptofinance newsletter.  Two amazing, FU worthy steaming chunks of journalism stand out for being SO one sided and blatantly unfair. First, FTX is mentioned FIVE TIMES!  IN this SINGLE STORY!!  HAH that's more than we heard about it ALL WEEK out side the FT!!

Secondly, the FT gloats over Binance spot dominance slipping, without mentioning Binance quit offering fee free trading in BTC!! That's just low life.

We could go on - the FT pretending like FTX was ever a serious rival to Binance.  The FT's portrayal of PEPE as a hate symbol, not saying the ADL said Pepe was usually not racist.  The FT portray's Cryptomom's speech only in terms of how it sets her up to be against Gary.

and ON and ON and ON -  the ft finds a soundbite - code is code and law is law, mmmmmm OK??

yeah no chit FT!! just ask the Mango Hacker. ?9c22b6856e538b9708611bd9cdb615422d2033cd25279774650e9d421511415d.pngNOT in the ft TLDR: last we checked HE was still in jail ar ar ar ar !!

Ya know what?  have a giant BAG of FU's!!!

& THAT"S IT!!  FREEE !! WE ARE FREE WE TELL YOU !!

Peace out, love

Dave

National Merit got this punk rocker to Oberlin, and Wall Street fintech gave up world tours and an NYU MBA. I am a Bitcoin true believer. Bitcoin is deeply revolutionary in a way we always prayed tech would be. Keep the baby Faith!

FT WATCH - the Financial Times on Crypto!!!
FT WATCH - the Financial Times on Crypto!!!

The WSJ turned into USA today - which leaves the FT at the top of the heap for serious financial news! Join us for a semi-serious monitoring of the FUD & hate the FT now showers on crypto. Dear readers know we love that pink newspaper but boy howdy does the FT despise crypto--- it's funny. The old guard always fights the new guard. The FT does it eruditely, with misleading comments, fun graphs, and outright lies (usually) attributed to crypto's greatest enemies!
