It's a quiet, 37 hours long day on the misty plains on the equatorial region of the biggest moon of the gas giant called Ractanhar in the local language that nobody ever heard because is used only telepathically.
The gentle organic foam, that has some similarities with fungal life on earth, although genetically very different, is filled with tiny mollusk - like life forms - the ideal food for large filtration - animals. They arrive from the both poles to take advantage of the seasonal abundance of life on these vast ''tropical'' lowlands.
The feeding of the giants attracts some smaller (but still pretty large) creature, that we still have to study. For now, we can talk about them only in questions. Are they a different species or just a phase in the growth of the larger animals ? Is this some kind of symbioses ? And so on ...
The small floating creatures seem to be related to the tiny mollusk - like, which you can't see on these pictures. However, our experts think that they are some sort of smaller predators. It's an interesting ecosystem that we just begun to uncover in these last few decades.
He, he ... and so begins this patchwork of Science Fiction obsessions and ideas that made me spend four years creating these images ... that are a multidisciplinary mix of hand drawing, hand painting, photography and the final merging of the three in photoshop.
Through this blog I'll try to bring to you ...or bring you into ... this galaxy that I created out of frustration of not being able to travel the space like in the Science Fiction novels or movies. :D
This is some sort of post prototype, actually ... because I have no clear vision about how to write this blog. I have the pictures ready ... but when it comes to narrative ... I'll have to work on them along the way.
