According to a new survey conducted by Harris Poll, 11% of the US population already owns at least part of the Bitcoin cryptocurrency.

This information was published by Spencer Bogart, Blockchain Capital's main partner, for which a survey was conducted to obtain analytical data on Bitcoin's demographic trend.

The survey was conducted between April 23 and April 25, 2019 and included answers to 2052 adult Americans. It was an expanded version of previous demographic research by Harris Poll in October 2017.

Based on the results that have been compared with the results of 2017, the American population has gained more information on Bitcoine in terms of 6 key aspects: awareness, knowledge, perception, belief, buying tendency and ownership. Indicators in many cases have increased dramatically despite the fact that Bitcoin found itself in a prominent bear market in 2018.

The results suggest that Bitcoin is the most “trendy” for the youngest adult generation of people aged 18 to 34. According to the survey, awareness of Bitcoin was the only aspect in which older people (over 34 years) were able to match this generation with the results. The share of Americans who heard about Bitcoin grew from 77% in 2017 to 89% in April 2019.

As far as Bitcoin ownership is concerned, 20% of Americans aged 18-34 confirmed that they invested in Bitcoin, while 11% invested in Bitcoin, while between 35-44 years old. Of the 45-54 and 55-64 year-olds, only 5% admitted the investment, and of the US citizens over 65, at least a small percentage of BTCs have two percent.
