Opera's leading web browser has released a new version of its browser with built-in crypto wallet.
The new Opera 60 browser (codename Reborn3) includes the native Opera Wallet and Web 3 explorer, which allows users to perform transactions and communicate with the blockchaine-based Internet, also known as Web 3. The browser also provides a private network (VPN) feature in efforts to increase user privacy and security.
The Opera Wallet is reportedly synchronized with Opera's crypto-store for smartphones, which means that the keys to the wallet never leave users' smartphones. "In practice, whenever they need to identify themselves on the Web 3 website or sign a transaction on blockchaine, users get a notification on their smartphone. They can confirm it in the same way they unlock their system, such as using face recognition or fingerprinting, ”explains Opera.
Opera already added a wallet to its Android browser in July last year. Opera Product Manager Charles Hame said Opera's initiative in this area could speed up the transition of cryptocurrency from speculation and investment into real payments and transactions in everyday life.
