IOHK's CEO, Charles Hoskinson, in charge of the development of Cardano's cryptocurrency (ADA), announced a big news on Tuesday - Cardano (ADA) has achieved a significant goal in its roadmap.

This is a transition from Byron to Shelley, which leads to stability, interoperability and successful decentralized management. Cardano (ADA) becomes fully decentralized through staking.

Thanks to Shelley, Cardano will provide incentives to those who will actively participate in Proof of Stake. But what makes Cardano different is that Shelley will allow those who do not want to run their own node (24/7) to participate in the process. ADA holders (hodleri) will be given the opportunity to delegate their share of the staking pool operator.

In this way, ADA hodleri will transfer their rights to participate in the protocol to the pool operator. However, all rights to their delegated funds will remain with the original holder. This means that they will be free to continue using any of their ADA wallet balances, even when entrusted to the stake pool operator.

In addition, they will still receive a reward that is proportionate to their deposit. This happens whenever a new pool is verified by a stake pool. The only difference is that the fees remain with the operator.

Meaning Shelley
Shelley can be a major milestone in Internet development. Cris Dixon says in his article "why it matters to decentralization" about the coming third age of the Internet. "cryptocurrency combine the best features of two Internet periods: community government and decentralized networks, which will go beyond the state of the art centralized services."

The gradual introduction of Shelley is an example of a diversion of centralization to a more equitable system - where community management is the key to a successful project. Shelley brings for the first time the possibility that even technically poor individuals can participate in decentralization as a collective.
