Here's a neat little starters guide for anyone wanting a succinct introduction to the digital property ownership game Upland with some helpful tips thrown in.  

The game allows users to purchase digital versions of real life properties that are minted to the EOS blockchain, these transactions become immutable and permanent so players will have true ownership over the digital versions of the real life properties they buy in game. Upland continues to grow in user-base and popularity since it's inception.

The in-game currency used in Upland is called UPX. You will be awarded a small amount of this in-game currency upon registering to enable you to get started and purchase your first property. You have a player piece (called a block explorer) that automatically wanders the map of the city you chose upon registering (this can be changed later). As your player piece moves across the map you 'discover' the properties it moves past. Once 'discovered' you can click on individual properties for address details and rental income obtained from purchasing the place etc.

Upon just starting out you will notice that a large portion of the properties are labelled 'FSA'. These are the places you will be wanting to check out as they are reserved for new players to get their foot in the door so to speak. Have a click around these places, find a nice one with a decent rental income return for the price and then click buy. Voila! you have bought your first digital property. You can now come back every 3 hours to collect UPX rent. The simple premise of the game is to stack UPX by buying up more properties, however here are some tips to help you out on your journey to being an ultimate property magnate and rake in more of that UPX.

• Visit at least once a day! - You don't have to do much, just login and collect your rent at least once a day (I leave Upland open in a separate tab of my browser on my laptop). This is vitally important when just starting out because this, if playing without any investment, is where the vast majority of your UPX will come from to begin with. You get a daily visit bonus each day that raises in value over each 7 day period. If you miss a day your visit reward bonus is reset and you will lose your main source of UPX as a visitor. 
• New players must click on their block explorer (in the top left of the main screen on desktop) and renew their visa within 7 day intervals to ensure continued ownership of their properties. This has to be done until a players' total UPX net worth exceeds 10,000UPX. At this point property ownership becomes permanent and you graduate from a simple visitor to true Uplander and can then buy and trade properties as you please!

• Check the menu in the centre of the bottom of the main screen. Two very useful tabs exist under here called 'Collections' and 'Treasures'
• Complete and activate Collections - The first one is simple, you just have to buy a property. You still have to activate the collection for it though, I myself missed out on the UPX rental income boost for this for the first couple of days, and have seen many others do the same simply because we didn't go to the collections tab and activate the boost. Check out all the other collections early as aiming to complete these in good time will affect your property buying strategy.
• Participate in treasure hunts - Being a new player myself I have not had much look finding hidden treasures on the Upland map yet. I can easily see the value of participating once I have acquired more properties however. Once hunts are started, arrows point you in the direction of hidden treasures on the map. Click on owned properties in the vicinity of your block explorer then the 'treasure' icon to be pointed in the right direction. Your block explorer must pass through the area where the treasure is hidden however and the hunt is timed. It therefore seems easier to find a treasure the more properties you own, as you can pass your explorer to your own properties in the direction of the guiding arrows.
