New Blockchain Initia Makes Scalable Web3 Apps Easy to Build, But Is It a Game-Changer?

By Bfab | Good vibes | 13 Oct 2023

I just learned about Initia, a new blockchain project that is making it easier for developers to build scalable and sovereign Web3 applications. I'm wondering if Initia is just another blockchain or if it has the potential to be a game-changer.

Initia is designed for highly interwoven modular rollups, which means that developers can build their own custom L2s (Layer 2s) on top of Initia's L1 (Layer 1). This gives developers a lot of flexibility and control over their applications.

Initia also has a number of other features that make it attractive to developers, such as:

  • Support for MoveVM, a new smart contract language that is designed to be safe and efficient.
  • Compatibility with Cosmos IBC, which makes it easy to bridge assets and data between Initia and other Cosmos-based chains.
  • A robust economic system that aligns the incentives of all participants in the ecosystem.

Therefore, Initia could make it easier for developers to build scalable and user-friendly Web3 applications.

However, I'm still not sure if Initia is a game-changer. There are a number of other blockchain projects that are working on similar problems... Only time will tell if Initia can stand out from the crowd.

I'll be following Initia closely in the coming months to see how it develops, and if there is a way to get an airdrop like for Celestia.
