Do you miss the simpler times of gaming like Zork or Dragon Quest? Me too. I recently came across a game called The Adventurer's Guild, which takes place inside Discord via a custom bot. It's a text based RPG with images, based on a system similar to a d20 system like Dungeons and Dragons. Every skill, weapon, piece of equipment, and consumable is an NFT in this game, each being craftable or able to be acquired from enemy drops. Enemies also have a chance to drop GUILD, a token on the WAX network. The benefit of using the WAX network is the fact that it has very low fees and is extremely fast. I talked a little about the WAX wallet in a previous post, it is very easy to set up. 

GUILD tokens can be staked in liquidity pools on the Alcor DEX, a decentralized exchange on the WAX network. They can also be used to purchase consumables as of now, in limited supplies on the NeftyBlocks marketplace or AtomicHub. WAX tokens can also be spent for NFT items, weapons, consumables and skills. 

TAG as it is known, is still in BETA, but the devs have promised a "content explosion" in the very near future. The current level cap is 15. Every level, you gain 5 stat points that can be attributed to Power, Intelligence, Luck, or one of several other stats. Combat is turn based and if a reward other than xp is gained, it is immediately sent to your wallet.  

Setting up to play the game can be a bit tricky, and it's by no means free, but that said, it's VERY reasonably priced for the amount of entertainment potential this game has. Definitely don't quote me on this but I think the Honeycomb burn NFT runs around $.50 - $1 USD and the BETA pass is also only a about a dollar, paid in Wax tokens (as stated in my earlier post, you're also going to want to have some wax staked in your wallet so that you have computing resources to use for the wallet transactions you make for gaining items and using the marketplaces). This access to Honeycomb extends across all Discord servers, in case you find another that uses it. After you've set up your wax wallet and logged all of the appropriate information, you will need to follow the instructions on Discord to gain access to the Honeycomb bot. This creates a permissionless link from your WAX wallet to your Discord account by requiring proof that you own the WAX wallet you are attempting to use. This access NFT is "burned", sending it to the Honeycomb bot address. This will enable the game to deposit your NFT's and GUILD tokens to your WAX wallet. Then you will need to purchase a Beta Pass on NeftyBlocks or AtomicHub. When you purchase a beta pass, you are granted access through a 'proof of ownership' function, which verifies that you own the appropriate NFT. After you have fully followed all of the instructions, you will be given access to the beta. I have personally made out like a bandit so far as the game is growing quickly and the market can heat up considering some of the items are limited.

You can run 10 quests each day (incrementally increasing as you level up), and there are special events that give limited time items. You can also do random monster encounters, which can be done an unlimited amount of times per day. Some monsters can drop crafting materials and some can drop skill scrolls. These drops can be worth quite a lot. Also, each monster has a chance to drop a small amount of GUILD. 



I think my favorite part of this game is that it can be picked up or put down at any time, at no penalty. It is very fun and the developers are extremely responsive and engaged on Discord. They often have the answers to any questions before we even ask.
