I have been playing this game for a little while. Honestly when I first started it was daunting and seemed like you need huge excel spreadsheets to track everything going on in the game. But oh how I was wrong.
The first thing I want to say that I learned the hard way is finding jobs. So you go navigate to the "All Jobs" tab in the bottom left corner and select which job you want to look for. And this is how I have always done it. Well yesterday I found a so much better way to find a job for your workers. Click on your worker icon in the bottom right.
Then click on "Find a Job" and it brings you to every job that this particular worker can do. It takes into account the tools you have and where you are located on the map. So you don't waste time looking at jobs that you can't do. It's a little thing but it saves so much time.
Another tip is the Filter icon in the top left corner. It looks like a funnel of sorts:
This lets you filter the tiles on the map. If you are looking for only free plots to chop down some wood this same a ton of time. If you are looking for a plot to rent this also helps amazingly.
Next tip is that you need to be familiar with the All My Stuff:
This will tell you where items are on the map that you bought or what each worker has. It's super helpful.
Next is to join an alliance. You may not need it right away but I have been tracking some alliances and every so often someone in the alliance sells tools just to the alliance for super cheap.
If a worker has something that you want to give to another worker you can transfer the item. If you buy a tool for Worker 1 but Worker 2 is super close you can have Worker 2 pick it up and then go to Worker 1 and transfer it. Once both workers are on the same plot click on the "transfer" button next to the image of the worker. It will bring up a screen allowing you to transfer items back and forth.
If you are looking to buy tools I would stick with a Axe and a Saw. For one of my workers I bought them a gold pan and a pickaxe but I noticed most gold mining jobs were paying 7gold a minute. I have run into times now where there are no free Gold Mining jobs so I have to just wait or send my worker on transporting jobs. If I was to play again I would NOT buy a gold pan and pickaxe until I bought the certificate to work for 5 hours.
I recommend getting an axe and a saw for each of your 3 users as soon as you can to get better jobs quicker and earn that gold quickly.
