So I have learned a few things that I wanted to share in regards to Prospectors.io

I got into this game because I saw a post on it and that person gave me 6,000 gold in game. Which was super nice. But with that 6,000 I was able to buy tools and do more things instead of just selling Wood and doing transport jobs. But I swore that being that rich wouldn't change who I really was :)

So with my 6,900 +/- I decided that I was going to buy tools to help me gather wood faster. And those tools would be an Axe and a Saw. First thing I bought was a Saw because it was cheaper of the two and it was closer to my worker. So I bought it for 1,900 gold and sent my worker to go fetch it. It took him about 2 hours to go to the plot of land where it was being sold. Once there he picked it up and then I went back on the market and started to find an axe that was close to me and also cheap. I found an axe that was cheap but not close so I bought it and sent that same worker to go fetch it. I spent roughly 2,900 on the axe.

This is my worker with the Saw and the Axe on the way to his first job using both. He did pretty good for himself and found a job not to far from him that pays 7 gold per minute to chop some trees down. So he is going to do that for 60 minutes.

While that 1 worker was going to get my tools (each worker can hold/use 2 tools at a time), I told my other 2 workers to gather more wood. After they gathered a while I sent 1 worker on a transport job and made maybe 100 gold. Then I wanted to sell some wood to get some gold in the bank.

This is where I learned a very important piece of information. On the Market at the top there is a Selling and Buying tab. The Selling tab is for people who own/rent a plot of land and have built a store and are selling items to anyone. The Buying tab is where people put out a request for an item or resource and a set amount they are willing to pay. I thought I could just list my wood on the market and call it a day but Nope. So I had to look through the Buying tab and find someone that was buying wood at a decent price and was close to me so I could go drop it off and get paid.

When my 2nd worker was done with the transport job I noticed that if they have wood in their inventory they can turn that wood into Wood Beams. Wood Beams are worth more  but they take 30 minutes to make out of Wood. So I set them to the task of making 2 Wood Beams and will sell those once they are done.

• You can not just sell your items to anyone unless you own/rent a plot of land (which again is like 200,000-300,000 gold) and build a store.
• Your worker can use 2 tools at any given time.
• Each tool has a lifespan. They wear out over time. And when buying tools you have to be careful that the tool you are paying full price for is a tool that hasn't been used yet. Default lifespan is 100 hours per tool.
• Prospectors.io can be played on almost any browser. I have played it on my Android phone and honestly it surprised me how smooth it was.
• If you buy an item and worker 1 picks it up. You can NOT give it to worker 2 unless worker 1 and worker 2 are on the same plot. This game tries to keep it as realistic as possible. So it may be better to may a little more to find something closer to your worker.
• When you send your worker on a job to say cut wood by default they can only do that job for 60 minutes or 1 hour. When you get 85.520 gold you can buy a one time certificate that let's your workers performs jobs for 300 minutes for 5 hours at a time. So it greatly increases the job duration and the less time you have to micro manage.
• The average job for using just a Saw is 5 gold per minute.
• The average job for using a Saw and Axe is 8-9 gold per minute. So almost double.

I am going to do some math on paper and figure out if it's worth it at current rate to do both tools or jobs separate. Over the life of the Saw if I was to use it by itself I would make 30,000 gold. If I was to use both the Saw and Axe together over the life of them I would make 48,000 gold. So it's not double or more than double. But it's 48,000 gold over the course of 100 hours and the tools cost 4,800 so net profit of 43,200 gold

It's 30,000 gold over the course of the axe's life and the tool cost 1,900 so a net profit of 28,100 gold.

So it's better to buy the tools upfront and use them together to earn more gold quicker.
