Infidel mining is a community active within the game called Aliend Worlds. A mining game that is based on the WAX cryptocoin.
I have been mining with the Infidel Mining group for only a few days. But with the help of the community I have learned how the website works, how to use my WAX and how to earn some TLM.
While there are already quite a few blogposts and articles and tutorials on the Alien Worlds game I noticed a lot of them went into a lot of details that even after receiving explanations I still do not fully grasp. I believe I am not the only one running into such issues and that is why I am writing this blogpost.
I will use my limited amount of time as part of the Infidel Mining to my advantage, as all the things I didn’t understand are very fresh in my mind. So here we go!
WAX-Wallet
If you want to start mining TLM in the game Alien Worlds, the first thing you will need is a WAX-wallet. You can simply go to this website: https://wallet.wax.io/dashboard and create an account from there. It is completely free to create one, though if you want to really earn some money with TLM mining, I would recommend to at least invest around 20 euro’s. More on that later.
Join Infidel Mining!
Infidel Mining is a community active in the game alienworlds. I do not know if there may be better groups for advanced crypto gamers, if you are a beginner like me, this community is amazing! They answer all your questions and the best of it all, if you mine on their lands they stake WAX to your account for extra CPU! More on what CPU is later.
Be sure to go to this discord: https://discord.gg/dCbnW67NxR and join the group today!
I will explain the advantages of this community at the end of the blogpost, once you have a basic understanding of how the system works.
Alienworlds – Out of CPU
Once you have created a wallet, you can go to https://play.alienworlds.io/ and log in with your WAX wallet. Either you will log-in and can start mining, OR you will get an error message saying ‘Out of CPU’. Even if you managed to log-in and start mining, it probably will not take long before you receive this message anyway.
So what should you do when you receive this message? Well the first thing you should do, is go back to your WAX wallet (https://wallet.wax.io/dashboard) and click on the right side of the screen on ‘Resources’. Here you will find how much WAX, NET and RAM you have available. You can ignore NET and RAM for now, as CPU is what it is all about.
When you create an account, the platform will provide you with 1 staked WAX, which provides you with a very limited amount of CPU. Every action you take in alienworlds or other games that use the WAX wallet cost you some CPU. CPU is not one-time use only. After you have made a certain action, exactly 24 hours that part of your CPU will become available again.
How do you increase your total CPU? Well you need to stake more wax and that is what the earlier 20 euro’s is for. Purchase some WAX either using other crypto or a creditcard, maybe there are other ways as well and make sure to add it to your WAX wallet (your wallet-address can be found in the upper right corner of your wallet overview).
Once you have received your WAX, click on ‘Resources’ again and stake your WAXP to your CPU. If you buy WAX for about 20 euro’s (around 22 dollars) you can put everything into CPU, I would recommend to keep a handful of WAX in your wallet, which I will explain later.
Once you have staked your WAX, your max CPU will increase and you will be able to register for alienworlds, or if you have been able to register already, start mining! Of course, the more WAX you stake, the more CPU you will receive. CPU is not static and changes a lot. 1 minute you can have 35 cpu available, the next minute only 28 and a minute later you are back to 32 again).
For 20 euro's I could buy about 120 WAX, depending on your activity this could be enough, but the more you mine the more likely you are to receive new Out of CPU errors. If you buy for more than 20 euro's, staking until you have about 100 to 150 ms CPU is more than enough to keep your mines running.
Where to mine?
If you want to receive the benefits joining Infidel Mining is providing, you MUST mine on spots owned by Infidel mining. When you log in, be sure to select the option to ‘change your land’ and find the planet ‘Naron’ all ground owned by Infidel Mining is located on this planet.
You will then have the option to pick from the following coordinates:
- Mountains: 36:15 [TLM: 2, NFT: 2.2, Time: 3]
- Plains: 20:9 [TLM: 0.6, NFT: 0.5, Time: 0.7]
- Icy Desert: 16:2 [TLM: 1.7, NFT: 1, Time: 1.7]
- Sandy Desert: 23:9 [TLM: 1, NFT: 1.1, Time: 1.2]
- Rocky Desert: 17:14 [TLM: 1.6, NFT: 1.9, Time: 2]
The lower your CPU is, the more important it is to pick the option with the highest multipliers! Despite the fact it may be less efficient when it comes to time, seeing your CPU is limited you are not able to mine 24/7 either way. So to get the most out of your CPU, pick the highest multipliers, which is of course Mountains.
Once you have picked your mining spot, just hit ‘mine’ and the process will explain itself. At any time you can look at your WAX wallet how much CPU you have left. Another good way to keep an eye on your CPU can be found here: https://wax.bloks.io/account/.nvee.wam, just type in your own wallet name or even log-in to the website, and it will show a good overview of your CPU and what you are spending it on.
Improving your tools
When you start out, all you have is a single shovel. But you will notice, that there are three equipment slots available. A very smart thing to do, is to buy 2 more shovels! Just go to https://wax.atomichub.io/market select on the left ‘alien.worlds’ and then as subsection ‘tool.worlds’. Change the list to ‘lowest to highest’ and the cheapest item you can find should be a shovel. They are very cheap and absolutely worth your money. With the current lowest prizes of 0,11 WAX. You can probably earn it back in a day!
So why would you get 3 shovels? Simply put it increases your earnings and not just that, just like picking ‘mountains’ earlier as they had the highest multipliers, 3 shovels means your mining time will increase together with your earnings. CPU costs stays the same, so it simply means that you use your CPU more effectively. Of course if you have more WAX, it can also be nice to buy even better tools!
Equipping several of the same items does require a bit of a work-around, there are quite a few youtube tutorials on youtube, like for example this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9rWVUyRMYw&ab_channel=Swatspam
You can use a tool calculator here: https://alienworlds.tools/
And some more information on tools here: https://metahub.info/2021/218-alien-world-tools-ultimate-guide/
Set a timer!
Something I only found out minutes before writing this blogpost, is this amazing timer tool: https://alarm.alienworlds.tools/
Simply type in your wallet address and the tool will play a sound when it is time to mine again. It is only a timer so mining has to be done manually, but it will make sure you make the best of the time you have!
Selling/Staking TLM
Staking TLM does not provide you with any direct staking rewards. However the more a planet is staked, the better the rewards for mining are. I would not recommend putting all your TLM into staking, however putting some of your earnings into staking will help not only you, but your fellow miners as well. In return you hope that other miners do the same, so that everyone benefits. For myself I have decided that all the earnings I make on sunday go to staking, while the rest of my weeks earnings I keep for myself. Note that when you stake TLM you do not lose them and you can always unstake them at a later point in time.
So what should you do with your mined TLM? Well the best thing to do is to turn it into WAX. Once you have turned it into WAX you can either spend it on tools, other games or of course stake more WAX to increase your CPU further. I personally use this exchange https://wax.alcor.exchange/trade/tlm-alien.worlds_wax-eosio.token but there are others as well. You can login with your wallet. Important to note is that selling TLM to WAX also costs CPU, so make sure you limit your amount of sales. You should at least never make a sale for less than 1 TLM (which is at the time of writing worth about the same as 1 WAX), but even that is quite low.
So what is the benefit of joining Infidel mining?
Last but not least, I want to talk about this great community. Infidel Mining is a full fledged mining community with community managers, moderators etc. The discord is well managed and very welcoming to inexperienced users.
The most interesting and most profitable advantage of joining this group however, is that if you mine from the plots owned by Infidel Mining, you have the ability to get extra staked WAX on your account! That simply means Infidel mining as thank you for the fact that you mine on his lands, gives you free CPU to spend! Join the discord and fill in this form: https://forms.gle/8qN23N1DbbRrL73n9
You will not get the WAX instantly, for me however it took less than 24 hours.
Last but not least you also have the ability to receive some special NTF’s. What that means exactly is not important for now, all you need to know is that you can sell them on the marketplace OR (and this is probably better) trade them in for some more Infidel Mining benefits! Being it more staked WAX into your account as well as other benefits. You can read more about this on the discord.
Is that it?
No, it certainly is not, there are many subjects I have not talked about in this blogpost, staking WAX, use of RAM and NET, giveaways from Infidel Mining and much more. However I hope this tutorial does help you to get going without making the early mistakes I made. You can of course ask any question with the Infidel Mining community.
