Three hands - Drawings in pencil

Hand Studies

I've been struggling with the hands on my figures all through October, so I promised myself I would get in a lot of practice drawing hands once Inktober had ended. Here are three hand poses I drew today, on the way to learning to draw hands more reliably.

Three Hands - drawings in pencil

I drew these quite large. Between the three of them, they take up most of a page in my sketch book. I could probably get one more in there at a similar scale. I am hoping that I can learn the shapes and details at this size, well enough to make believable hands at the much smaller scale that is needed when you draw a whole person.
