In an ideal world, all the cryptocurrencies you are holding in your bag are giving you a significant returns. Various governments have finally understood that the digital currency is actually the future and almost every country has legalized them. But this is not ideal world! It is just the first month of 2022 and the price of cryptocurrencies is rapidly falling. Maybe it is the start of the bear phase or maybe it is the silence before the storm i.e., the mass acceptance or the crypto finally breaking off from the chains of being tied to the World's views about it. This is a wild phase for the cryptocurrency universe and all of us are in for a long bumpy ride.
However, the bearish market is so tempting. Bitcoin is below $36K at this point and Ethereum is almost at $2500. Loopring (LRC) is one such cryptocurrency which has had the wildest start of the year. The Crypto went from $3.35 in November last year to mere $0.78 at the time of writing this article. Sure it has the bumpiest ride but it doesnot mean that the potential is gone. Bitcoin was almost nothing in the early years. Neither was Ethereum or Ada or even Monero. But people understood the potential real-world applications of the project one way or another.
Loopring is Layer 2 solution for Ethereum. It uses the Zk-Rollups for moving the processing off of the Ethereum blockchain and hence, vastly reducing the gas fees for the transactions. The more transactions that occurs on the network, lesser will be the network fees. Why? Because more transactions are bundled into a single transaction which leads to the spread of the fees among various addresses. Increasing the spread decreasing the fees per person. Ethereum 2.0 is just around the corner (as it has always been for the past 5-6 years). But the amount of growth the network has seen in these years, the gas fees will most probably remain same. So, Layer-2 solution are here to stay and Loopring, in my opinion, will be the coin which will be the trendiest in 2022.
What about other coins though?
Predicting the crypto-market is not easy. It is almost infeasible at this time. The volatility is high and fear index changes with every optimistic or pessimistic article/speech by some famous person or governments about the crypto currrency. But the bearish market will end one way or another. Just like the price can go down ar any point, it might as well become bullish. Bitcoin, Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies will eventually go up. There is no way Bitcoin aka the gold of cryptocurrency will stay below $40,000 forever.
Meme coins like Shiba Inu and Doge coin etc have been the entry point for millions of people in the crypto-currencies universe. A slight hint of their price increase will bring million more people in.
There are other projects like Cardano, Algorand that are slowing building up their infrastructure and are trying to extract as much potential as possible from the blockchain. They have been working on the many real world applications too. Nano has shown that the crypto-currencies can thrive with zero fees and shows how by using the blockchain we can transfer asset to anyone in world just in a fraction of second. Monero, on the other hand, promises greater anonymity while still being fast and low fees. Ethereum has been the go-to platform for many great projects. The smart contracts and Dapps deployed on the blockchain ranges from DeX to games to DeFi and what not.
Then there is Metaverse which is in its own world (pun intended). It has shown a lot of potential last year too. All in all, the crypto-universe has thousands of project with many unique ideas. The end goal of most of them is to make world better in one way or another making it hard to just ignore them.
Do Your Own Research before buying any cryptocurrency. Check out various projects and invest in the one which you really think have the most potential. Only invest the amount of money which you can according to your financial position. In case of a dip it is better to check what is causing your assets to lose value instead of Panic selling. Remember that your assets has lost value compared to FIAT and most people will say that it is not a great way to compare value. You still have same amount of tokens you had before i.e., 1 bitcoin is not $35K or $50K, but 1 bitcoin will always be equal to 1 bitcoin.
