About the Author
I was there when the Alpha version of Prospectors was being built.
I was there when the First Elements of rPlanet were being discovered.
I was even there when the first 20 Alpha Testers entered Alien Worlds.
...And I have never seen a Project as well put together as Dark Country.
If I have any criticism, it is that good things take time. But that time has finally passed.

So what is Dark Country anyways?
Dark Country is a Crypto Project with two Game modes:
- Land Conquest (Browser Based)
A Land Management Builder where players fight to gain influence. That influence then determines how much reward a player gets at the end of a day. - Crypto Card game (PC Client)
A Crypto Card game that features over 300 different cards from 4 distinct sets.
Dark Country currently has three different Asset Classes (Lands, Heroes, and Cards)

How does the Dark Country Economy work?
Dark Country is linked to a Crypto Currency called Shadow Dimes (SDM).
Landowners pay players SDM to increase their own influence. Influence then determines how much SDM a land receives. The higher your influence. The more SDM can be earned. To reward activity, influence depreciates by 1% every hour. So players have to continuously work on their influence if they wish to maintain SDM earnings. Lands do have a base influence. So even if a Landowner does not play at all. They will still earn SDM.
The following chart explains the basic economic flow.

How does the Land Quest game mode work?
Landowners can pay SDM to set up Quests, Contracts, Stake to their Faction, and Host Tournaments in order to increase their influence.
To explain the process with an in-game example:
Artemis (Land Owner) will create a Quest for 150 Shadow Dimes (SDM).
Cryptic Gamer (Player) will then accept the quest with a Quest Party (1x Hero and 40 Cards)
The player Cryptic Gamer will receive 150 SDM for running the quest and Artemis will receive 200 influence.
At the time of writing each influence point earned 1 SDM per day and lasted around 3.6 days due to the deflation. Artemis would have spent 150 SDM to earn 720 SDM. Earning 570 SDM ($0.57 on June 16). Though my place is not to speculate on markets.
Dark Country gameplay cases with income calculations
Before putting you in the picture with the calculations, we would like to clarify the details regarding the indicators.
The SDM to influence ratio depends on the race of the cards. In the calculations below, we indicated the average figure based on the data of five races - 1.15 SDM per 1 influence.
Daily influence depends on the rarity of the land, influence multiplier, and activities on the land. In the estimation, we entered the average indicator for Common Land - 700 influence.
As for the number of quests, we took the Epic Hero as an example of the calculation, since the hero itself is one of the initial attributes of the game onboarding.
As for the reward for the quest, the number 80 that appears in the calculations is the average value.
All numbers are subject to change due to SDM token price, land or card price, and influence distribution.
Case 1: Landowner running quests on their land.

Case 2: Player - quest with card Deck (40 pcs) + Hero

A player with cards is eligible to participate in PvP matches, the victory of which is rewarded with 100 SDM.
Case 3: Landowner - purchased lands and performed quests on their own

Case 4: Landowner - land without quests (passive income)

Example of Land owner setting a Quest

Example of Player taking a Quest

It should also be noted that a land owner can run quest parties of their own.
Questing is the largest focus, but the land mode also contains:
- A Sheriff's office Hero Contracts
- a Bank where you can stake to reduce your deflation
- Faction staking can further increase the rewards all users in your factions receive
- Tournament management
- And more...
How does the Card Game mode work?
The card game and Hero game are integrated. You can create tournaments in the Land Conquest that players can partake in the Collectible Card game to earn SDM. Boosting your own influence further.
In Summary, each hero starts with 40 life. Then they battle it out to reduce their opponents' life to zero. The card game contains over 300 cards. Which is reasonably comprehensive by Crypto Game Standards
To promote free-to-play: All users get access to a non-blockchain cardset enabling users to play the card game for free and win some SDM.

To conclude
Dark Country is a project that already delivered:
- 300+ cards from 5 different card sets integrated into a 3D Collectible Card Game
- A Fully functional Land Conquest game mode integrated into two blockchains
- 3x NFT classes (Lands, Heroes, and Cards)
- SDM Token on WAX and Flow
For me, it is a project that every Crypto Gamer should keep an eye on. It is my top focus. Though I am biased because I love their art, lore and have always enjoyed a good collectible card game.
