The detail many people don't know is that you don't need to pay for TradingView's paid plan to use the original Volume Profile. You just need the right broker.
I, for example, don't use indicators. My strategy is based on time and price. The clean chart is my primary tool. But this particular indicator allows me to see in real time something I can't see 100% with just the empty chart: where the actual volume is, level by level.
And since it aligns very well with my system, I use it as an extra layer of confluence. For greater accuracy. Not to predict the future.
What is the Visible Volume Profile?
It's an indicator that shows you how much volume was traded at each price level. Not by time (hourly or daily), but by price.
Visually, you see horizontal bars on the right side of the chart. The longer the bar, the more volume was traded there.
Key information it provides:
• POC (Point of Control): The price level with the highest volume. Price tends to return there like a magnet.
• HVN (High Volume Nodes): Areas with high volume. They act as strong support and resistance levels.
• LVN (Low Volume Nodes): Areas with low volume. When price reaches an LVN, it moves quickly because it encounters no resistance.
• Value Area: The range where 70% of the volume was traded. Inside = fair value. Outside = search for a new price.
Why it's better than other indicators:
Most indicators have a lag. They show you what has already happened. The Volume Profile shows you where the real market interest is right now. Real-time information. Not a snapshot of the past.
The real problem.
The original TradingView Volume Profile is an excellent tool. But it's locked to free accounts. It can only be used with paid plans.
There are community-created scripts that attempt to replicate it. And to begin with, they can be useful. But they lack the accuracy, fluidity, and reliability of the original indicator.
The question is simple: why pay a monthly TradingView subscription if you can access the same indicator for free through your broker?
The solution I found.
Some brokers have agreements with TradingView. When you open a live account, they unlock access to the original indicator. No extra subscription required.
This doesn't just apply to the Volume Profile. It also unlocks other indicators and features. But today we're focusing on this one because it's the one that truly changes how you read the market.
