Doing something different today, no movie reviews. However, I'll be reviewing a documentary and a TV show review (TV Show coming later today!). For our documentary review, I'll be reviewing the Netflix doc, Files of the Unexplained. This documentary tells the real first hand accounts of...wait for it...Unexplained events! This doc visits intriguing and horrifying stories of Alien abduction, missing persons reports, murders and more. 

This documentary is formatted in a TV series format with 8 episodes. As the series goes on, the stories get weirder and weirder. The first episodes highlights some alien sightings in Pascagoula, while the highest rated episode (according to Imdb) is episode 3, which dives into the disappearances of 5 men in Yuba County, California in 1978. This documentary is very well done and there is no bias in any of these episodes. Documentarians recently have been taking seemingly 1 sided approach to stories. Almost as if they've already taken a side, and do nothing but tell the story from that specific side. This series does not do that, it just tells the stories and leave it up to the audience to decide what to believe or what conclusion to come from. 

My favorite episode is the tale of the mysterious Lake Lanier in Georgia. The mysterious disappearance and events that surround this body of water are deeply investigated and the stories that you hear will really raise the hair on your arm, or the back of your neck, or wherever you have hair. This is definitely worth the watch and the good thing about this series is you don't have to go from episode 1 to 2 then 3 and so on. The episodes don't tie into each other and you can watch as you go, which is exactly how I watched it. Here is the path I followed:
