Hello, Hive || Goodbye, Steemit

By Ronnie10 | CryptoSlice | 5 Apr 2020

Omg, it's been so long since I wrote something. It feels so good to be back.

So, you might have seen in a previous post that I was trying to get a Steemit account. I was not into the idea of paying for the service. Of course, I wanted to try it and share my experience. But, I didn't have any reason to pay the network to join. I was checking my email from time to time and I have not received any response yet. Until, few days ago where I heard about Hive!

Of course, Publish0x is the first community that I have found and it has its special place. You just feel like you know your way around here very quickly. Unlike, other websites. I am not going to make this any longer. Let's talk about Hive.

So, What Is Hive?

Over the past few months. The Steemit news was filled with Sun's gaining access over the whole network. I wasn't sure why. But, it seems to be that it has something to do with choosing to have the control given to the community rather than having Sun's controlling over Steemit. So, I was checking the news from time to time. Because, I wanted to see if there would be any reaction from Steemit community to that.

Well, surprisingly to me it happened! Steemit network was forked to create Hive. All the data was copied to the new network. The community had chosen to make a brave move (I think) to keep things as they are for their members. So, I said ok. Here is something that I don't mind paying to join. I didn't want to wait again in Hive queue. I went ahead with the paid service as I wanted to support their cause.

What Do I Think of Hive So Far?

Well, so far so good. I have posted few articles over there and I find it to be something similar to Reddit. It is not as easy as Publish0x. I still get lost in Hive when I am trying to find a post somewhere in the community.

Are We Really Saying Goodbye to Steemit?

So, all the Dapps are moving to Hive now. But, I think there is still time for Steemit to comeback and that would have to be as a new thing. It has to be unique and have some characteristics that are unique to attract members to join.
