Scam Token STRANGER

The Scam Token $STRANGER On BCHSmartChain Works Like A Virus

Today I asked users for shitcoin donations in form of SLP tokens running on the BCHSmartChain. I received a token called HONK, a token called FEEL and then one user wanted to donate me a token called STRANGER. This token was no shitcoin anymore as it turned out to be even worse.

STRANGER is a malicious scam token that works like a virus.

Shitcoins are typical phenomena of smart contract platforms as anyone can simply go and create their own tokens via a smart contract.

This is no specialty of the BCHSmartChain as it is typical for all smart chains out there. The rise of shitcoins began with ER20 tokens on the Ethereum blockchain.

So I had the idea to ask users on noise to donate to me their worthless and useless tokens, so-called shitcoins, that they got from airdrops or wherever they got it from.

A real shitcoin is not only worthless but somehow also fun like this HONK token, for example.

One user wanted to donate me a strange coin called $STRANGER. When I asked him where he got it from, he replied that he had absolutely no idea and that he can't remember where it was coming from.

He had exactly 1000 $STRANGER tokens in his wallet and wanted to donate me 500 of these tokens and keep the other half.

He said that tokens were sent but all I received was a fraction of a cent in BCH. I would say less than nothing.

This was the moment when the donator and I started wondering. Definitely, something $STRANGE was happening.

All his 1000 $STRANGE tokens left his wallet but he had only sent 500 of them. He was certain that he had only transferred 500 of them.

So, I checked the BCH explorer to see what was going on with the transaction and I found out that this $STRANGER is moving in mysterious ways.

Scam Token STRANGER on BCHSmartChain

The explorer even provided me with this graphic that you see above.

I received a fraction of nothing in form of BCH. The 1000 $STRANGER from the sender were split into two transactions and two wallets from strangers received 500 $STRANGER tokens. In this way, the $STANGER tokens act like a virus, infecting wallets from strangers. It really spreads like a virus. This is also the way my donator must have received them as he has no idea where they were coming from.

$STRANGER is a malicious scam token that acts like a virus because the story does not end here!

With the transaction of the $STRANGER tokens, the wallet from the sender had been emptied and all SLP tokens were gone at once.

He said that the wallet was surely not connected to noise, so the SLP tokens are not lost in the auto consolidation process which is another topic.

This is the story of the malicious $STRANGE tokens that are acting like a virus to empty the wallet of the sender.

My Final Words

Like any other Smart Contract Platform, the BCHSmartChain is not Lala Land where stuff like this is not happening. It happens on all Smart Contract Platforms and BCHSmartChain is simply no exception!

The second lesson is that scammers are damn smart and YOU have to be smarter!

The third lesson is that if you find any token in your wallet that you do not know where it is coming from, the best thing is to simply ignore it.

The last lesson I have learned - that you should already have learned from your parents as a kid - is this: Do not talk to $STRANGERs.
