Polkadot is my number one pick for the upcoming altcoin season 2021. Some say that Polkadot is going to be the Ethereum killer. Well, I think different. I believe that Polkadot is more like a good partner connecting to Ethereum. 2021 is going to be a massive year for Polkadot.
Here is why I have invested in Polkadot for the upcoming altcoin season 2021!
The Polkadot Ecosystem
Let`s face it, Decentralization is not only happening on the Ethereum blockchain. A huge part of decentralization is taking place outside the Ethereum blockchain, for example in the still quite young Polkadot ecosystem.
Polkadot is actually one of the hottest things happening in the crypto market right now. Some even say that Polkadot is the most important cryptocurrency since Ethereum.
Polkadot was designed to resolve the scalability and interoperability issue that can be observed on the Ethereum blockchain right now. The interoperability with other blockchains is the main focus of Polkadot.
Why Polkadot Is Hot 🔥
I guess you noticed the rise of Polkadot and all the hype connected with it. You haven`t noticed? Well, then you are probably living under a rock in Bikini Bottom together with Spongebob.
Not only investors are crazy about Polkadot, but also developers are. The developer community is absolutely excited about Polkadot and this is super important. It is the key factor when it comes to building a whole ecosystem around Polkadot.
Many new exciting projects like Polkastarter, Mantra DAO, or Ocean Protocol start running their tokens on Polkadot blockchain or they are moving them away from Ethereum to Polkadot. 250 different projects have announced that they are or will be running on Polkadot. If you ask me, this is a strong bullish signal.
Over the last months, Polkadot has achieved more than all the other smart contract platforms combined. The Polkadot blockchain has been live for only a few months and you can already find everything on the Polkadot blockchain that you can also find on the Ethereum blockchain: From NFTs to Lending Platforms to DEXes. You will already find all of it on the Polkadot blockchain.
Players like Moonbeam expand to new chains. Moonbeam is an Ethereum-compatible smart contract parachain on Polkadot that can connect to Etherum. That's one of the main reasons why I consider Polkadot to be a partner of Ethereum rather than being its killer.
My Final Conclusion
Don`t get me wrong, I am still a huge fan of Vitalik and Ethereum but if you think that Etherum is all we need and it will do anything in smart contracts then ask yourself this: Why have so many developers (and also big investors) so excited in being a part of the Polkadot ecosystem if Ethereum is the end-all and be-all of all smart contract platforms?
