It is already well known within Splinterlands that players can convert reward cards obtained from the Reward Store into Glint, but did you know that a recent update introduced the ability to convert cards into Sparks?
This might not be big news for those who follow all Splinterlands updates—since the change dates back to August 11th—but because it brought something quite different to the game, I believe there may still be players unaware of this new feature.
If you aren't familiar with it yet, you can find this feature by following these steps: in the top menu, select the "Items" option, then select "Cards," and filter the list to show "Foundation" cards. Now, for any Foundation card, if you select the "Burn" option and choose "Sparks," you will receive Sparks in exchange for the card.

You can Convert Frontier Cards to Sparks in Splinterlands!
It's worth mentioning that the amount of Burn varies greatly depending on the rarity of the cards. For common cards, the amount will be only 5 sparks, rare cards are worth 20 sparks, Epic cards 100, and legendary cards 200. Furthermore, if they are gold or black foil, the amount increases significantly compared to the amount you would get from burning a regular card.
The Fortune Draws option is still available, but I don't know if many people used this option in-game to determine if it's good or not. I believe that since it depends on luck and the Sparks option allows for greater flexibility, players may end up preferring to use Sparks or simply hold onto the cards until they reach the maximum first.
Why might players prefer Sparks? It's because there's a variety of options available within the Spark Shop, starting with avatar items that are customizable for your avatar. Currently, there's the Vega Top hat and a Vega-themed background.
Furthermore, for those who enjoy customization, there are also some Traveling Bazaar skins with a merchant theme. I've already created content discussing this topic in more depth if you're interested.
In addition, there's the best part in my opinion, which is the Other tab, where you have energies, music - which is now finished - and best of all, there were 6 exclusive cards to exchange for 30k sparks. This is an amount that all players can obtain by doing the daily spin and collecting Tier rewards.
There are currently only 3 cards available, and soon there will be fewer options because only 2 copies are left before the supply of King Erminaz Twincleaver is depleted. After that, the options will be Ratbound Corsair, a 9-mana archer with closed range. Following that, Gorm the Vengeful, a Special Persona with Death element opportunity.
Both have a total supply close to 200, and in terms of value, the last time I checked, the cards were around $1, but as more cards are minted, the price may start to drop.
I hope this initiative continues and we get more cards in the future. There are many community members who could easily be represented in card form; we could hold a contest for the community to give suggestions. A crazy idea would be a Frankenstein card that would be a mix of several different suggestions, a card with 3 multiple bloodlines. Feedback and suggestions for the devs!
