Where’s the DEMAND for Escalation Mini-Set?

Where’s the DEMAND for Escalation Mini-Set?

A great deal of expectation had been formed regarding the demand for the new mini-set. Many Splinterlands players believed that, since this would be the first time SPS would be accepted as a form of payment, and like DEC, being accepted at a fixed price by the company, it could cause the demand for SPS or even DEC to increase as players prepared to purchase the new packs. There was a significant increase a few weeks ago when the SPS value reached something close to $0.0085, seemingly poised to reach 1 cent again, but since then it has been falling and is now at $0.0078.

Therefore, let's understand exactly what the mini-set of the Conclave collection, known as Escalation, is; understand how sales will work and why the idea of accepting both DEC and SPS at fixed prices may not have been so appealing; and finally, analyze the market context for this pre-sale on February 10th.

I'll be much appreaciated if you VotesReblogs or give any Tips. Thanks and have good reading! 🍀

Escalation, the new Conclave Arcana mini-set, is coming to Splinterlands first in the pre-sale on the 10th and then in the general sale on the 24th. This pack will contain 12 commons, 12 rares, 8 epics, and 11 legendary cards. An interesting detail is that buying 10 packs earns you Doldrus, a card... This dual element deck seems to be a good tank for its mana cost, and with 100 packs you get Portia Nyr, who seems to be a very strong mage, but with a high mana cost. In addition, there will also be a leaderboard for participants with various prizes, some of them raffles.

Interestingly, the cards will have 8 new abilities, which could end up changing the strategies within the game. The first is Apex Strike, which attacks the unit with the highest power, Bulwark. The unit in the first position loses attack but gains health and armor; these are some of the new abilities.

Where’s the Demand for Escalation Mini-Set?

According to a post made on the official Splinterlands account on January 30th, the pre-sale of the Escalation Mini-Set is scheduled to take place on February 10th, and according to the Splinterlands team themselves, due to the low quantity, they expect that all packs may sell out during the pre-sale itself, as indicated by the phrase "risk of selling out". "in presale." This already indicates that it was "expected" that there would already be movement on DEC and SPS, with players starting to stockpile tokens for the pre-sale. After all, anyone interested won't risk waiting for the general sale on February 24th if the team itself makes it clear in the post that there's a risk of everything selling out in the pre-sale.

Although high demand is expected, when we look at the SPS and DEC charts, that's not quite what we find. In the case of the SPS, it's possible that this demand was actually brought forward to the beginning of January. Around January 4th, the token was trading below 0.007 and then surged to 0.008. It held that level for a few weeks until now, closer to the event itself, when prices have been decreasing and it's currently at $0.0078, still well above the values of months ago, but already raising a red flag.

Furthermore, since the event will also accept DEC, it's worth noting the token's chart, which is accepted by the team at a ratio of 1000 DEC to $1 in Splinterlands products. Unlike SPS, which has risen, DEC has remained constant around $0.60. I think the problem is that, unlike previous times, these promotions served to increase the value of DEC, but since this time there's SPS, the focus is divided and that could end up hindering things…

Furthermore, some users might have unstaken, in the case of SPS, to buy packs instead of buying tokens, which wouldn't affect the token's price. They might also be waiting to buy closer to the pre-sale or general sale date, but what do you think?
