Everything about Aging Shed in Sunflower Land!
One of the most important changes was the addition of a new building called the Aging Shed, which has 3 tabs implementing new mechanics to Sunflower Land's Age and Ferment. The first tab is perhaps the central point of this new building. In it you can combine fish and salt to transform them into aged fish or prime aged fish.
The big difference, and the reason for doing this, is that aged fish have significantly higher XP than normal fish, offering a new way for players to gain XP without having to rely on cheese foods, which currently provide the highest XP. With the new skills, there are some options that increase the chance of obtaining prime aged fish from 10% to 20%, if I'm not mistaken, and you can get another 4% from the monument.
The next option in the Aging Shed is Fermentation, where players will combine salt with other ingredients such as Broccoli, Onions, Pepper, Radish, Tomato, and Zucchini to craft the game's new buffs: Greenhouse Glow, which reduces Greenhouse Pot time by 20%; Greenhouse Goodie, which increases Greenhouse yield by 0.2; Sproutroot Surprise x5, which gives +0.2 crop yield and -50% growth time; and Turbofruit Mix, which gives 0.1 fruit yield and -20% fruit growth time.
A key tip that can help you in this initial salt mechanic is the option to convert treasures into salt in the fermentation tab. 2 Bones = 1 Salt; 4 Crabs = 3 Salt; 8 Bottles = 9 Salt; 4 Seaweed = 15 Salt.
There's a final Spice tab, but it doesn't have many options, with only 3 different spices available. The first is Refined Salt, which is crafted with 10 Salt and takes 1 hour; the second is Salt Lick (5x), which gives +5% Animal Yield in the next 3 Harvests, using 5 Refined Salt; and the last is Honey Treat (5x), which reduces Animal Feed by 25% using 5 Refined Salt and 5 Honey.
We need to assess whether these buffs will actually be used, but some details about these new crafts are that they will be a bit of a hassle to use because the cycle is a bit time-consuming. This was one of the players' complaints, because you will need to collect Salt, then you will need to craft 5x Refined Salt, each one takes 1 hour, meaning it will take a good amount of time, then you will still need to craft the other items which also take 1 hour, and finally you will need to choose the animals to apply the buffs to.
Interestingly, some impacts of the Aging Shed implementation and crafting on the Sunflower marketplace were noticeable. The first impact observed in the Sunflower Land marketplace is related to the Honey Treat item, which uses honey in its crafting process. Since honey is a resource that players cannot acquire in large quantities, due to the lack of buffs to increase it, the limited weather changes, and the high cost of obtaining another flower bed, any change in demand for it is quickly observed.
This suggests that some users may have started buying honey specifically for this crafting, as the price has increased. Another interesting point about the marketplace is that the price of SALT seems significantly higher than its farming cost, as several upgrades also require salt, such as those for monuments and salt farming spots.
