Here's an update on some of my favorite WAX blockchain projects/games.
Alien Worlds
My ownership of Neri 36:16 has been crucial in establishing the nashvillelou brand. I've sold thousands of NFTs promoting that land, and I appreciate everyone who has mined there.
The full Alien Worlds game remains in development, but the current timed mining sessions provide a rather easy way for newcomers to learn the basics.
R-Planet
When I tell people that patience is a crucial element to blockchain gaming, it's more than just a generality — it's a fact. Here's another example of that.
2022 has seen R-Planet reverse its perplexing decision from last year to give out clues for element discovery attempts. That has been retired, hopefully permanently.
Attempting to discover elements without clues is no longer the sucker's bet it had become. This is a good thing.
They didn't stop there with the adjustments.
Aether, an in-game currency for R-Planet, became absurdly plentiful. Now there are steps being taken to curtail that, which unfortunately includes the nerfing of element NFTs.
That will hurt me to a degree as I have many element NFT holdings, yet I both understand and welcome the change. It needed to happen.
On the flip side, that Rig v.3 Mini Pack I've been sitting on since May of last year suddenly became very valuable. As of this writing, only 254 of the variety remain unopened.
It will be interesting to see which projects make the initial cut for the forthcoming Staking 2.0 system.
Right now I own a decent amount of aether, and it will be staked aether determining which projects make the list for the start of the new staking setup.
Beast Garden
Season one continues to move along, with the introduction of Springs being the most recent advancement. This is a well-managed project that is fun to play. If you like Splinterlands, I think you'd like Beast Garden.
I wrote about Beast Garden at length in December 2021. And there have been improvements in the interim, including additions like the Effective and Vulnerability visuals.
There's a great Beast Garden community on Discord. And when the developer makes changes or adjustments, they're explained in a clear, easy-to-understand way.
Warsaken
I really like this project and it deserves its own stand-alone column. Beautiful artwork, great attention to detail, and passive earning ability to acquire Loot.
The gameplay is in development, but there is a level of depth and planning to Warsaken that becomes increasingly evident as you learn more about it.
NFT Battle Miners
Like a number of prominent 2021 initial releases, NBM is a game in development that has a mining element now with fighting/battles still to come.
One thing I really like from NBM is being able to mine for NFT salvages. Usually it's a card piece or an NBM NFT or a pack, but sometimes they drop NFTs from other games.
Currently I consider this project undervalued. So it's a longer hold for me on secondary market NBM sales from freebies at the moment, especially the non-mining NFTs.
Blockchain RPG
The game is in beta testing right now. And while there's not much to it at the moment, I see potential for RPG-style blockchain games to thrive.
It's also amusing to send a guy dressed as a pilgrim into battle against dangerous wild animals. But it seems that Milo is rather handy with the steel.
Office Land
There is something endearingly quirky about this project.
I found it worthwhile to spend some OCOIN to open up ten slots, which unlocked bulk finishing.
Yellow helmets for everyone, it seems.
This was not an all-inclusive list, and there are new projects emerging at a consistent rate here in early 2022. Should be interesting to see what happens next.
