Dappgoose Labs Wants You!

   Hello dear readers~ For those of you who've read my previous articles, you'll know that I'm very passionate about the development of web3 and about creative freedom. As a person who never even considered publishing any of my artistic, written, or musical content before my introduction to blockchain and crypto, particularly NFT's, I have a deep sympathy for the struggle to gain any kind of meaningful visibility; as well as the even more difficult task of monetizing your work through traditional methods. Because of that sympathy, I decided to do what I could to benefit other creators. Originally, I simply planned to create an online art/music/literary gallery and allow anyone to submit their work and their links to be put on display. What it has evolved into is certain to disrupt the status quo.



  Currently, I am working very hard to establish a feature-rich NFT creation platform, marketplace and social network. The proof-of-concept is currently live at https://thegoosenest.site and I invite all creators to make an account and send me a piece of your work that you would like to have displayed. I'll be sure to update this post with our official white-paper and mission statement once they've been fully written and proofread. At present, I have two or three people who wanted to be on the team, but as I'm not their boss, and currently can't offer payment beyond my social currency (I call it my ArtCoin) and our intended platform-native tokens, I don't take issue with continuing to do things by myself. That's (maybe) where you come in! 





  While I am actively seeking potential accelerator programs or opportunities to pitch to investors, I have trouble believing either will be wildly successful when explaining that my interest is not in building a wildly profitable platform. In fact I'll be consciously refusing many potential methods of generating revenue, such as charging for a premium membership plan or allowing Google and Facebook to collect and sell information regarding the userbase; or to place targeted ads.  I will be doing everything realistically possible to protect the data, identities, and privacy of anyone utilizing The Goose Nest. For these reasons, I am inviting anyone who believes in my vision, and who is passionate about contributing to the growth and sustainability of creators of all kinds, to donate fiat or crypto to our continued growth. 

   In truth, everything that has been built and promoted so far has been created, managed, and paid for by me over the course of a couple of months and hundreds of hours of research, design, user feedback, etc. *NOT A COMPLAINT, I'M VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT PROVIDING CREATORS AN INNOVATIVE AND FREE PLATFORM* The only true obstacle preventing the completion of the MVP, and the subsequent shift-of-focus to visibility and promotion is that I have as of yet been unable to find a developer willing to work pro-bono as a member of the Founding team. So, to any developers reading, your time is far more valuable to me than potential donations.  

When completed, I will update this post with our official Mission Statement, as well as the whitepaper for our native token economy.

Features that have already been implemented in the Proof-of-Concept : 

- Social Networking via a public forum
- Instant token-swaps powered by CoinSwitch
- Tokenized time-slots to offer commissions/freelance work, powered by our partners at Microsponsors
- A full-page gallery displaying a number of artists with links to find more of their work or information
- The ability for anyone to add on-chain annotations to any NFT that they own via TokenScribe by Conlan
- An open-use marketplace for physical/digital goods, or services, powered by Origin Protocol
- Earnable badges that are displayed on user-profiles, allowing for anyone with a registered account to flaunt their status
- A blog that any registered user can apply to write on
- A growing list of resources for creators and other crypto-enthusiasts
- Customizable profile pages for registered accounts

Coming Soon: 
- Free portfolio mini-sites for verified creators
- Free human-readable wallet addresses [through subdomains, eg: brucethegoose.ethpay.xyz]
- Weekly full-page creator features displaying a collection of their work, and a short Q+A
- A fiat on-ramp powered by our friends at Wyre

Planned Features [Easily possible after onboarding or hiring a developer[s]
- "Guilds" Creators will be randomly assigned to 1 of 6 Flocks during sign-up, and each flock will have a private communication channel, which we hope will encourage networking and collaboration
- Gamification via creative challenges and contests, which will be rewarded in NFTs, our native tokens, and other cryptos (still in ideation, but the plan includes a percentage of all revenue being added to a 'rewards fund'
- Promotion of independent creators instead of just selling ad-space to agencies [buy using our native tokens, or other cryptos, creators will be able to buy adspace and inclusion in our promotional campaigns
- An NFT marketplace built on top of OpenSea's open-source SDK
- Custom smart-contracts to guarantee royalties to creators for all secondary sales of their work
- An innovative minting platform to allow for creators to make interactive or actionable NFT's
- Music/Video uploads with user-created channels (similar to youtube)
- A regularly updated list of VR galleries displaying or owned by our community
- $DOWN, a platform-native ERC-20 which will be easily earned by creators, available to be bought by collectors or fans, and useable to buy NFT's from our marketplace, or acquire adspace, or staked to earn interest over time [theoretically, the availability and variety of uses will continually add to the value of the tokens] 
- Peer-to-peer content monetization through tipping or promoting other user's content
- Live events such as streamed auctions, virtual meetups, creator interviews, etc. 
- Community ownership and control of the platform through a DAO

Over time, I'm confident that other features will come to mind and be added and freely available.

I will not do an ICO, as I can make no guarantees to the adoption and valuation of $DOWN, and I am not willing to offer equity based on the intention to allow the community to have as much control over the future of the platform as I do. 

I will be launching an NFT collection as a fundraising method, in which a limited number of 'Founder's Tokens' will be created and auctioned. Founder's Token HODL'rs will receive exclusive airdrops of NFT's as well as $DOWN and $FTHR (and possibly ERC-20s issued by projects we've partnered with or collaborate with) and will be commemorated in a custom artwork that will be featured on the platform.
