Being a fan of Westerns (ask me about my Sam Peckinpah habit) and primed to try and make crypto outta nothing, the whole idea of bounty hunting, of course, appealed on multiple levels. Time's my richest resource atm (thx virus!), so giggy microtasking -- the heart and soul of crypto bounty hunting, in which you complete small, discrete tasks, like following an account, or reposting something, in exchange for tokens -- sounded like a sweet opp. I armed myself with a new Telegram account and an email just for the purpose (the weapons of choice) and set, this week, to hunting.
Only…
...most of my hunting was hunting for bounties to hunt.
There's so much skuttlebutt in all these communities I lurk in around crypto hunting, that I admit, I probably got myself over-excited. But after looking around on a bunch of sparsely populated boards (like Bounty0x*) or sites obviously abandoned, I find I'm all dressed up with no damn place to go.
* Disclaimer: Bounty0X had some tasks. But, and I am not even joking, none of the are open to the US (where I'm at). If you're elsewhere, check it out, though the tokens offered are less than thrilling.
All right. So, maybe I should go airdrop hunting. I went to AirdropBob, and airdrops.io, and...honestly, I stopped there, once I realized I was seeing the same stuff over and over at both places, so lost all hope and sank into my sad couch to write this sad post.
There were airdrops, allright, but all shitcoin or for holders of coins I, uh, don't, or they were over.
Are the days of riding my virtual horse into a virtual town with the head of a virtual Telegram message in exchange for virtual money over? Has this all been a ghost town since 2018?
Or am I looking in the wrong saloons?
(Yes, I rode this bad analogy all the way to the end, partner)
