What Am I Missing? Cards Down, SPS Up

Among the most interesting news released in the last month on Splinterlands, there is certainly the proposal to launch a new mini-set still within the Conclave Arcana expansion, a bit like what happened, for example, with Riftwatchers, the mini-set of the Chaos Legion expansion.

In the proposal – whose voting is still open – there is the option to purchase these packs not only with DEC and Credits, but also with SPS and USDC.

As for SPS, the price will not be dynamic but fixed, which means that at the current value it will be possible to buy the new packs at a huge discount if SPS is used as the payment currency: the value SPS should in fact reach to match the purchase price with two of the others currencies available (Credits and USDC) is above $0.014.

The same reasoning applies to DEC, since at the moment it is traded below its soft peg of $0.01.

It is therefore not surprising that the value of DEC and (especially) SPS has recently increased.

What does surprise me instead is the continuous decline in the value of the Rebellion set cards, whose reasons I cannot explain.

Cards

Using Peakmonsters, the value of my cards is currently about $129.

Last month the value of my collection was instead around $147.

A decrease of about $18, which adds to that of the previous month.

In the last 2 months my collection has lost much of its value: if in early July it was around $200, today this value has been reduced by more than a third.

Tokens

On the token side, however, the situation continues to be much more stable and, in fact, even positive, especially thanks to the proposal I mentioned above regarding the possible release of a new mini-set.

Currently the value of my tokens amounts to $91.63.

Last month their value was instead $81.79.

$10 more, surely due to the increase in SPS price in recent days, since on the DEC side the difference is really minimal.

In addition, I also have a reserve of 89 HIVE (converted from 20,500 DEC):

And a very small share in the DEC-GRAIN pool (obtained by investing 2,000 DEC):

Here the main differences lie in the fact that:

• I converted another 10,000 DEC into HIVE, waiting for the right moment to convert them back into DEC
• my position in the liquidity pool is slowly approaching the initial value I spent to create it: from that moment on I will finally start going positive!

For now I just observe

This is what I intend to do for a while longer.

My DEC income is still steady and, barring unforeseen events, in a couple of weeks I will be able to convert another 10,000 DEC into HIVE.

This is a very good thing, because HIVE is also very undervalued right now, and buying it now could turn out to be a good deal in a few months.

Of course, it could also turn out to be a bad move, but I want to hope that at some point altseason will come and bring some joy to us Hivers (and Splinterlands players/investors).

Surely seeing the value of my cards drop without me understanding the reason is a bit disheartening, but as long as rental income remains steady I can’t complain too much: after all, this is the purpose for which I bought the cards I own and so far the results have been more than good.

However, I cannot go on like this forever.

If the decline in the value of my collection were to continue, then waiting would no longer be enough and I would have to start thinking again about how to adjust my strategy to bring it back on track.

Che Cosa Mi Sta Sfuggendo? Carte Giù, SPS Su

Tra le notizie più interessanti uscite nell'ultimo mese su Splinterlands c'è sicuramente la proposta di far uscire un nuovo mini-set ancora all'espansione Conclave Arcana, un po' com'è stato, ad esempio, con Riftwatchers, il mini-set dell'espansione Chaos Legion.

Nella proposta - la cui votazione è tutt'ora aperta - si prevedere la possibilità di acquistare questi pacchetti non solo tramite DEC e Credit, ma anche SPS e USDC.

Quanto agli SPS, il prezzo non sarà dinamico, ma fisso, il che significa che al valore attuale sarà possibile acquistare i nuovi pacchetti con un fortissimo sconto, se si utilizzerà SPS come valuta d'acquisto: il valore che SPS dovrebbe infatti raggiungere per portare il prezzo di acquisto con due delle altre valute a disposizione (Credit e USDC) è infatti superiore a 0.014 dollari.

Lo stesso ragionamento si applica a DEC, dato che attualmente quest'ultimo è scambiato ad un valore inferiore al suo soft-peg di 0.01 dollari.

Non sorprende, perciò, che il valore di DEC e (soprattutto) SPS sia recentemente aumentato.

Ciò che invece mi sorprende è il continuo calo di valore delle carte del set Rebellion, le cui ragioni non riesco a spiegarmi.

Carte

Utilizzando Peakmonsters il valore delle mie carte risulta attualmente pari a circa 129 dollari.

Il mese scorso il valore della mia collezione era invece pari a circa 147 dollari.

Un decremento di circa 18 dollari, che si aggiunge a quello del mese scorso.

La mia collezione ha perso negli ultimi 2 mesi moltissimo del suo valore: se infatti ad inizio luglio mi trovavo ad orbitare intorno ai 200 dollari, oggi questo valore si è ridotto di oltre un terzo, riportandomi indietro di mesi.

Tokens

Lato tokens invece la situazione continua ad essere molto più stabile e, anzi, anche positiva, soprattutto grazie alla proposta di cui vi parlavo poco sopra e relativa al possibile rilascio di un nuovo mini-set.

Attualmente il valore dei miei tokens ammonta infatti a 91.63 dollari.

Il mese scorso il loro valore era invece pari a 81.79 dollari.

10 dollari in più, dovuti sicuramente all'incremento del prezzo di SPS di questi giorni, dato che lato DEC la differenza è davvero minima.

Oltre a ciò ho anche una riserva di 89 HIVE (convertiti da 20.500 DEC):

Ed una piccolissima quota di partecipazione nella pool DEC-GRAIN (ottenuta investendo 2.000 DEC):

Qui le differenze principali risiedono nel fatto che:

• ho convertito altri 10.000 DEC in HIVE, in attesa del momento giusto di riconvertirli in DEC
• la mia posizione nella liquidità pool si sta lentamente avvicinando al valore iniziale che ho speso per crearla: da quel momento in poi comincerò finalmente ad andare in positivo!

Per ora mi limito ad osservare

Questo è che che intendo fare ancora per un po'.

La mia rendita di DEC è ancora costante e, salvo imprevisti, tra un paio di settimane sarò in grado di convertire altri 10.000 DEC in HIVE.

Questa è un'ottima cosa, perchè anche HIVE per ora è molto sottotono ed acquistarlo adesso potrebbe rivelarsi tra qualche mese un buon affare.

Certo, potrebbe anche rivelarsi una pessima mossa, ma voglio sperare che ad un certo punto l'altseason arrivi e porti un po' di gioia anche a noi Hivers (e giocatori/investitori di Splinterlands).

Sicuramente vedere il valore delle mie carte calare senza che io ne capisca la ragione è un po' sconfortante, ma finchè la rendita da noleggio rimane costante non è che possa lamentarmi più di tanto: in fondo questo è lo scopo per cui ho acquistato le carte che possiedo e per ora i risultati sono stati più che soddisfacenti.

Non potrò però andare avanti così all'infinito.

Se il calo di valore della mia collezione dovesse continuare, allora attendere non sarebbe più sufficiente e dovrei iniziare nuovamente a pensare a come correggere la mia strategia per riportarla sulla retta via.
