Serfdom & Sorcery

There are more and more play2earn games that are choosing Hive as their launch platform, taking advantage of the absence of fees and the possibility of marketing in an extremely easy and effective way, without the need to resort to external platforms but by taking advantage of the features of this blockchain.

These past few months it's actually even becoming hard to keep track of every new game released, and so it was a nice surprise that I stumbled upon Serfdom & Sorcery, a new Hive Game developed by @psyberx, already playable though still in the alpha stage, which can be ascribed within the role-playing game (i.e., RPG) realm... but with a twist!

In fact, in order to play Serfdom & Sorcery, one must join Psyber X Official's Discord server, register in the proper channel with the !register command, and then start using the game commands (which are simply messages sent to a bot) in the various play rooms available.

To every action, whether it's harvesting !harvest, killing a monster !attack or fishing !fish, there is a reward in DBLN , the game currency as well as a second level token already tradeable on the Hive, with which you buy potions for healing, more powerful equipment or, why not, even a castle... because who wouldn't like to have a beautiful castle all for him/herself together with a sweet baby dragon? 🔥🐲

Thus, the game has no graphics, nor a soundtrack, and the gameplay is extremely simple, on par with that of an Idle Game: however, the cooldown times of the various commands vary quite a bit, ranging from those that can be used several times over the course of an hour, to those that require many hours to pass before they can be used again, thus allowing each person to find his or her own pace within the game.

And yet, the game works and is surprisingly addictive.

Sending commands to a bot sounds tedious, but that is only until you get your first upgrades...and then you start figuring out and planning how to get to the next ones as soon as possible, exploiting and mixing the various methods available, trying to elevate yourself more and more from your serf status to move up the social hierarchies.

Because the more experience and wealth you gain, the more your level increases: you start from serf, move on to peasant, knight, baron, and so on until you become the king!

And who wouldn't want to be the king? 👑

After all, it's good to be the king.

Serfdom & Sorcery

Sono sempre più i giochi play2earn che scelgono Hive come propria piattaforma di lancio, sfruttando l'assenza di fees e la possibilità di fare marketing in maniera estremamente semplice ed efficace, senza necessità di ricorrere a piattaforme esterne ma sfruttando le funzionalità stessa di questa blockchain.

In questi ultimi mesi sta addirittura diventando difficile tenere il conto di ogni nuovo gioco uscito ed è stato perciò un bel colpo di fortuna quello che mi ha consentito di incappare in Serfdom & Sorcery, un nuovo Hive Game sviluppato da @psyberx, già giocabile sebbene ancora in fase alfa, riconducibile nel novero dei giochi di ruolo (ossia gli RPG)... ma con una particolarità!

Per giocare a Serfdom & Sorcery bisogna infatti unirsi al server Discord di Psyber X Official, registrarsi nell'apposito canale con il comando !register e poi cominciare ad usare i comandi di gioco (che altro non sono che messaggi inviati ad un bot) nelle varie play rooms disponibili.

Ad ogni azione, che sia il raccogliere il raccolto !harvest, eliminare un mostro !attack o pescare !fish, corrisponde un premio in DBLN, la valuta del gioco nonchè un token di secondo livello già scambiabile su Hive, utilizzabile per comprare pozioni per curarsi, equipaggiamenti più potenti o, perchè no, anche un castello... perchè chi non vorrebbe avere un bel castello tutto per sè con annesso un dolce cucciolo di drago? 🔥🐲

Il gioco non ha quindi una grafica, nè una colonna sonora, ed il gameplay è estremamente semplice, al pari di quello di un Idle Game: tuttavia i tempi di cooldown dei vari comandi variano parecchio, passando da quelli che è possibile utilizzare svariate volte nel corso di un'ora, a quelli che richiedono il passaggio di molte ore prima di poter essere utilizzati nuovamente, consentendo quindi a ciascuno di trovare il proprio ritmo all'interno del gioco.

E ciò nonostante, il gioco funziona ed è sorprendentemente assuefacente.

Inviare comandi ad un bot sembra noioso, ma questo fintanto che non ti trovi a comprare i tuoi primi potenziamenti... e poi a pensare e pianificare come raggiungere il prima possibile i successivi, sfruttando e combinando i vari sistemi offerti e puntando ad elevarti sempre più dalla tua condizione di servo della gleba per risalire le gerarchie sociali.

Perchè più accumuli esperienza e ricchezze, più aumenta il tuo livello: si parte dal servo della gleba, si passa per il contadino, il cavaliere, il barone, e via via fino a diventare il re!

E chi non vorrebbe essere il re? 👑
