Splinterlands Strategy: Improving my Winning Streaks!

With each passing season in Splinterlands the Arcana collection launch is getting closer. For last few months the sentiment in general across the community was of doubt and anxiety with the old collections losing value and new players inflow being slow.

All that changed with the announcement of Arcana and the launch of land 1.75. Now suddenly there is a lot of buzz around the gameplay, new players have started trying out the game and old timers are making more content about the gameplay.

This has also led more demand in cards specially the legendaries and gold foils which seem to have started disappearing from the market.

This also motivated me to play more and I have noticed that now I am able to advance faster each season.

Analysing Why I am Advancing Faster through the Leagues!

This time I decided to take a step back and think about when I advance faster and when do I get stuck at a place.

I realised it is lot to do with Winning streaks and how long you can maintain it. The double point multiplier of streaks makes climbing up much smoother.

If you look at the chart above of my recent Winning streak I was able to identify 3 obvious factors:

  1. Water Element - Since I started playing Splinterlands Water has somehow always been my strong element. Also whenever possible I use it so I have to memory which cards are best suited for which mana limit and which battle conditions. It is thus no surprise that I used this element in more than half of my fights
  2. Reward Cards - The reward cards we are getting now are soul bound and it costs a lot  to unbind them. I have seen many players complain about it but I have noticed many of them are really useful. Specially the Halfling which packs a major punch for just 1 mana has become a regular in my battles.
  3. Martyr Ability - I strategically place the Martyr ability card next to a strong card to make it even deadlier and its effectiveness is clearly showing in my win rate.

This helped me jump from Gold III League to Gold II League very quickly and then I decided to use similar strategies to extend my winning streak.

What you see below is the winning streak I held while zooming past Gold II to Gold I League.

The pattern is similar that I used a lot of Water Element  with Death element being the next frequent one.

Epic reward cards continued to be vital as Arachne weaver is my favourite reward card in Death element.

Unboxing Gold II Loot!

I did not get a lot of cards from my Gold II Loot but I was not complaining as I got a big bunch of Merits. I love Merits as they help me get my favourite kind of cards that is Gladiators.

I was able to open a Gladius pack and I got a bit lucky as it had a Epic card in it, Trapp. I need one more Trapp to level it up, hopefully y it comes next season.

Unboxing Gold I Loot!

Gold I Loot turned to be one of the best in months. I got a Gold foil rare Skyspire which is a really decent card and I also bagged the Legendary Balckmoor which I didn’t have till now.

It’s now time to start pushing harder for Diamond II and I hope the rewards are better. With the price of SPS pumping the amount of SPS I am able to collect each day also helps me pick up a card here and there specially from Chaos collection which is really cheap these days.
