Considering how dead the crypto markets have been in general for many weeks now, I have been spending time on checking out which new projects are coming out.

One of the projects that caught my attention is Soneium as it is coming from SONY. Most new projects struggle to grow and scale up as it is difficult to come up with RWM (real world assets) use cases. Unless you can create some apps which can be integrated to our day to day lives it will be difficult for the project to go mainstream.

Here Sony has a clear advantage as it is huge in the music, media, gaming, devices industries. If they put right efforts on this project it can have a lot of real work use and the token they launch can be integrated to many real life products.

Join the OG Gang for Soneium!

Nobody can guarantee the success of any project but considering Soneium is very new it makes sense to be part of the OG community. When it eventually goes big they will reward the OG gang if you stay active. 

Their Discord, Twitter and Telegram is really small as of now but I expect that to change drastically in the coming months.

What Is Soneium Doing Now?

Right now they have not revealed a lot of details about their roadmap plans but what they have clearly called out is that their focus will be on integration their blockchain with Real life situations. Sony has always been associated with coming out with technological breakthroughs. I hope they finally launch a project which can get the long awaited mainstream adoption of blockchain.

They have already announced partnerships with some big crypto players like Alchemy, Chainlink, Optimism and Graph.

Join the Testnet- Minato!

Their testnet is on a blockchain called Minato and you will need some Sepolia ETH to bridge there.

You can use the following link for the bridge- https://bridge.soneium.org/en/testnet

At the moment there are no DApps available so you can just bridge the Sepolia ETH for now and wait for the DApps to get launched in the coming weeks.

The testnet is created by a division of Sony called Sony Block Solutions Labs that is focused on Web3 applications. 

While you are waiting for the DApps to be available you can complete the quests of Soneium on Layer3 after you have completed the bridging to Minato. 

The Vision of Solenium!

Looking at their vision statement it is clear that their focus at least in the near term will be on building a global creator community which will include the music and gaming industries. One of their key objectives is to make Web3 technologies go mainstream. If they are able to tap into even a fraction of the users that use Sony products it is not going to really difficult. 

I am going to go move some Sepolia ETH to Soneium Minato testnet now. Will keep you posted as DApps get launched.
