The Slow Start
Almost two years ago on 21st August 2021 i wrote an article with title "How I invested my #SwapSpaceExplained reward" explaining how invested the rewards from a Publish0x writing contest on Rollercoin. Although I signed up in the platform back in April my account was dormant as I couldn't afford to buy any miners.
However, after deciding to invest part of my reward on the game, I purchased 2 Rolleminer S7 mining devices for 3.00 RLT and 1 Rollerminer S5+ for 9 RLT depositing in total 17 RLT or something like 0.006 ETH at that time plus the gas fees and therefore I managed to establish my first virtual mining rig.
The Promise
Surprisingly, I received a comment in my article from the user Lumenye asking me about my progress in Rollercoin where I invested part of my reward.
My response came few weeks later promising that I would write another article around Christmas 2021 when I would have a better idea of Rollercoin and added a couple of ideas how to be more efficient by updating the mining electricity and keep playing the arcade games of the gaming section. Interestingly Lumenye also wrote her own article about Rollercoin with title "Rollercoin Worth it?" and probably the question remains until today. I even left a comment there too but unfortunately that was the only article ever published from her.
I kept visiting my Rollercoin mining Rig during the following months and by XMAS 2021 i wrote another article about Rollercoin, this time on Leofinance with title "RollerCoin Season III - 2022 Celebration" about the latest promotional event in Rollercoin and added also a screenshot of my mining rig which was still the same with the miners without lots of progress on my earnings or the amount of miners but in a new Christmas Holidays Mining Room which was available only during the Christmas Holidays. Therefore there was no need of any update on my progress at all!
The 2 year progress
Time passed quickly. For the majority of these 2 years period, i was completely inactive in Rollercoin partly due to my real life professional activities and partly because i simply lost interest as (i) the price of the miners was too high to afford, (ii) the amount of the profit was too little to occupy my time.
And then the freebies from the Rollercoin started to drop like rain. Firstly some freebies sent due to "failure of operations" when probably there was some downtime in the operation of the platform or some giveaways, celebrations and competitions but more importantly through the mini events that started becoming more and more frequent allowing users to earn some minor miners just for collecting points after reaching another level in the games.
More information about the Rollercoin mini events you can find from Publish0x user kovak but mainly from a website https://www.infozdarma.cz/en.html where you can find lists of all 25 or 50 rewards for each mini event and it proved to be very helpful in order to examine which rewards are worthy. normally I stop just before the 10,000 points rewards because it demands a hell lot of games to reach that level and i have much more important things to do in my life.
Especially this kind of incentive was enough to attract again my interest and let me relaxing while playing simple arcade games such as the Token Blaster, The Coin-match, the Flappy rocket, the Coin-Flip, the Lambo Rider, the Token surfer or the Cryptonoid !
The only trouble from this basic arcade funny games is that every time you finish a game, you are being greeted with the following animation. According to my friend Khazrakh in his article "Is It Worth Your Time? RollerCoin revisited" back on September 2020, the animation mimics a blockchain transaction but in fact it steals 10 seconds from your valuable time every time you win a game!
Things were getting well. I was earning RLT and RST credits and several minor miners which i put into work although my mining power and profit was still low but i started enjoyed the game again as i could see some reward and some fun on it. Merging and Crafting was never into my interests as it demanded huge resources in RLT which i never had and in fact i enjoy having the original miners without the upgraded latin characters on their corner. And suddenly Rollercoin took the strategic decision to stop providing free electricity for the mining operations and users had to buy batteries in order to keep their rigs running. in fact on their diary Volume 7 and Volume 8 they explain the Why and How of the new system.
That was a real shock for me. By the time i started earning interest again for the platform, now Rollercoin decided to monetize it and requested users to complete boring tasks like installing scam apps on their phones in order to continue playing the game!
The reaction of other users was similar and several articles on Publish0x were written about the "Battery Situation". The most notable ones were from SteveRobert with articles such as "The Death of the Rollercoin", "Rollercoin adjust to stupid error they made, not enough", Rollercoin new changes help players but still major issues.
Interestingly, Rollercoin on another blog post with title "Electricity System Changes v.2, mentioned that they have decided to revamp their electricity system providing 1 FREE Battery for a daily login, however they didn't provide exact implementation date and they just promised to implement it in the NEAR FUTURE.
How's things Today
To be honest initially i was really disappointed too but slowly slowly i managed to adapt and survive to keep my rig operating most of the summer by completing a survey a day from TheoremReach that would provide me a free battery to operate my rig for 24 hours while earning more miners from the mini event. Sometimes, And today I managed not only to complete my room with racks full of miners but I also had to remove my lower miners to make room for the more powerful ones.
And i am very proud that I have managed to accumulate 19.147123 RLTs without spending a satoshi more than my initial investment. In fact I reached a power of 163.125 Th/s and a Network Power of 1.016 Zh/s that provides me 0.000017 RLT in each block. Still not a great amount but i enjoy it!
My ranking depending on whether my rig is powered or not is fluctuating around 40.000th. but who really cares ?
And all these without dedicating a lot of time each day playing the arcade games. Just around 30-40 games during the peak period of the mini events. Then i take a break and stop playing until a new event begins again. I have checked other users statistics playing 100-150 games per day. Gosh thats a lot of games and a total waste of time and I suggest to these users players to take a break and get a real life as well!
Future Plans
Well, yes i am not a crypto-whale or a game-whale wasting loads of funds to buy expensive miners feeding the families of the Rollercoin team and I still have a real life where a dedicate myself instead of playing arcade games the whole day to increase my power. Yet, my next goal in the game is to manage to reach 20 RLT in earning that would allow me to unlock the second room of my account in order to accommodate the miners that I have put out of work due to lack of space and of course to continue to participate to mini events to earn more free miners. Soon or later it will happen. Who knows? Maybe one day I will have enough miners to earn a bigger portion of the Rollercoin block providing me a more substantial passive crypto-income.
What are your thoughts about Rollercoin ?
What are your thoughts about my progress ?
P.S. I really hope that Luminye would read my article after fulfilling my PROMISE with a 2 years delay.
