One of the most important things that I think people overlook about Hive is the constant developer updates and the amount of transparency surrounding the changes that are included in future hard forks. In the "good old days" of steemit people were left guessing as to what was the direction the blockchain is heading towards and that's not a great place to be when you want to have developers creating dapps on your blockchain. Communication with the higher up at steemit inc was lacking and morale and confidence suffered because of it, and I very much doubt things are any different now on steem with the "new management".
Of course I only understand about 10% of what is written in the Hive updates that blocktrades rolls out every week but it's nice to get an idea where all the work is going into, and what are the exciting features that are coming at some point. It doesn't stop me from acting like a smarty pants in the comments though, I mean making an ass of myself is kind of my blockchain job you could say :P
