Hives, bees and thermostats

My #februaryinleo adventure continues, and today's theme is #CryptoMonday. What shall we talk about?

Well, this is just one tweet, but I think that may underline one of the future directions where Leo, and Hive, should focus. I know, I know, there are some concentrated efforts, but this is not enough. and then, with a potential shadow ban on the main Web2 media platforms, this may not be the best use of our resources. But I digress. What I was talking about.

As you analyze the tweet, you can see a few patterns. One - 3speaktv has more than 10K organic followers, yet only 14 comments, and like 1K views, but the interesting thing, most of the comments were also a re-tweet. The majority of their comments explain the same point of view, that Hive needs more marketing. The problem is, that marketing is more or less a minefield, and with limited funds, you need to look for the maximum results and minimum effort/funds. This is one issue that is as old as the Time itself. and anyone who can crack the code will instantly be insanely rewarded.

Hive is quite well-known in some areas, and I can just mention #HiveGhana (where @mcsamm and others are making a real difference through their efforts), or #hivevenezuela or a few more (Philippines, to say one more). So, how come this happens? We tend to be quite conservative, but one of the first things that I can think about is the name. There are quite a few Hive projects, Hive the intelligent house, Hive the mining company, and so on. So this can confuse people. A rebranding may be needed. Something related, but with a good, catchy name. There are plenty of brilliant people around here, so I am sure that if you start a brainstorm, a great name will pop up. This is one issue.

Getting more exposure on all the web2 main channels, bigger numbers on Google search with more accurate results. I am no marketing expert, but I can see some area that needs to be improved. Better at leveraging the people that are good at this kind of stuff, and are already on-board of Hive. My opinion.

What do you think about this subject?

All the best,
George
