I recently opened a DAO on the $DeSo blockchain via DAODAO with the sole purpose of raising funds for my sibling who is in heart failure. The goal of the DAO is as follows:

Help us raise money for our sibling Caleb's (they/them) healthcare expenses. On August 11th they went in for gallbladder removal to fix some GI issues they were having. The procedure was cancelled when they found their heart was enlarged and they were admitted to the ICU on the 12th for heart failure.

They are 24 and have not had a history of heart issues so this was out of the blue for us. Later on the 12th they were transferred to a specialty hospital and have been in the Cardiovascular ICU since then.

On the 17th the healthcare team decided to go the route of a heart transplant as there are several blood clots in the heart that cannot be removed safely. On the 18th they were put on an ECMO machine as their heart is too weak to provide oxygen to all of their organs. Being on the ECMO automatically bumps them up to level 1 priority for a heart transplant and we are currently waiting for a match to be found.

All of this is building up a lot of healthcare expenses that will come back to haunt us very shortly so I am trying to get on top of it by trying to raise funds through various ways (selling NFTs, this DAO, and I will also be starting a GoFundMe for Web2 social media).

Please consider purchasing DAO coins which will effectively donate the funds for us to use for these unforeseen medical expenses.
