It seems Monero has finally gotten onto the US's radar and they have a hefty amount of money ready to combat the anonymity Monero provides aka the main benefit of using the cryptocurrency. The bounty is out for anyone to take on and what the IRS is looking for essentially is someone to be a whistleblower but they probably know that this amount is actually not anywhere close to how much would be necessary for that to happen.

$625,000 is extremely cheap for this kind of job, but it's obvious that they will bump it up over time and try and hook someone as soon as possible
The thing with this is that Moneros code goes through detailed audits that the community funds itself since the value of privacy is priceless. A lot of the community know that this is of no concern to them and Monero in general since this would just be a free audit in their page. Only noobs within the community are worried about it somehow going awry. With the Monero developers being some of the smartest people in the crypto space, one upping themselves as much as possible, trying to crack their own code... it's hardly fathomable that this would successfully topple such a precisely constructed network.
There is actually an unimaginable level of layers, decoys, networks, stealth addresses all securing the network in a plethora of ways so for anyone invested I would not worry for the time being at least. Tho I wouldn't in the future either with how this project works and how the team handles situations like these.
