The People´s Guild Challenge: The New Player Experience

Hello Splinterlands Summoners!

The People's Guild has a challenge or #tpgchallenge for the Splinterlands community: that is to explore and identify key areas in the player experience—especially for new players—that could benefit from further development and refinement by the company. With this, I have the following suggestions.

Make Ghost Cards Earn Glint for New Players for a Limited Time

When I started Splinterlands, I can immediately earn some tokens from playing just ghost cards. The earnings I made were reinvested in the game by buying cards. This made playing so much fun as I was not just playing to win, I was also aiming to buy cards that were not in the ghost set. For new player signups, let them earn Glint using ghost cards. This will allow new players to try and earn in the game while also strengthening their deck. This feature should be limited to maybe a month or two. At this point, the new player will have already played several seasons during which he will be able to gain an idea on the basic mechanics of the game.

Improve One Set Rental

One set rental is a great idea. Building a deck is too difficult and could take a lot of time that may discourage potential new players. The one set rental is a great solution to this. However, it is only good for Bronze level which is not that fun and competitive. A bronze deck does unlock yet the other abilities of cards. A silver or gold deck is much more competitive and fun to play and could earn a decent amount and also acceptable in a guild.

A PVE Mode of Play

This is not just for new players but the old players will enjoy this as well. Have a daily quest PVE mode where players can finish daily challenges or maybe even a boss fight where everyone can join and earn rewards. This will entice players to log-in daily and play the game.

Conclusion

I am not sure how easy it is to implement these suggestions or if the community is interested in such features. Please comment down below if you agree or disagree with the above. I used @commentrewarder in this post to encourage engagement and reward comments.

Thank you for reading and have fun playing Splinterlands!
