Hello Splinterlands Summoners! Today I'll be sharing my thoughts on one of my favorite Epic Rebellion Reward card - The Halfling Refugee. Recently, I got him from buying epic reward chests from the Glint shop along with other cards that I'm excited to add to my collection.

Out of all the cards that I got. The Halfling Refugee immediately finds a slot and use case in battle.

The Halfling Refugee

It's easy to see why the Halfling Refugee is easy to find a slot in battle. First it's a neutral card which means every Splinter can use it provided the ruleset doesn't prevent Neutral cards. Second it only costs 1 mana. Looking at its stats, it brings a lot to the table for just one measly mana. It will immediately replace other 1 mana cards in battle like Hardly Stonefish or Chaos Agent. It's stats are great. At level 1 it can already deal 2 melee damage, it has good speed and 6 health. At level 3, it will gain the Heal ability which will make it even more tanky. Thankfully, it's debuff Weary only affects it unlike other units like Shock Trooper which hurt its teammates.

Summoners

Being a neutral unit, it can be paired with all summoners. However, I think its best paired with Tarsa since it deals melee damage. It will also be good with Kelya where it can have more speed and gain a shield.

Uses

The Halfling Refugee can be used in rulesets like Super Sneak and Equal Opportunity where it can deal damage from any position. Another use case for him is to tank in the last position against enemy sneak attackers because he has a lot of health for one mana. In low mana battles, it can take the role of a tank in the first position--absorbing damage while the backline damage dealers in the team do their job.

My opponent used him as a first position tank which is also a good use for him in low mana battles, he will even be better once gets the Heal ability.

Conclusion

The Rebellion Reward set brings new elements and excitement in the game. The new cards and abilities also gives us the opportunity to strengthen our deck and have fun collecting them. Already cards like Commander Slade and Halfling Refugee are regulars and replaced the CL cards I've been using before. I'm looking to continuously add more to my collection in the following days.

Thank you for reading and have fun playing Splinterlands!
