We Were Warned...in 2017

WTF?! (What the FUD) Let's Bitcoin Like It's 2017

By tstn | Crypt-o-crypt | 10 Jun 2021

tl;dr lt feels like 2017 all over again!

The 2021 May crash may make your hands feel weak, and 2021 June is looking to be no better, but we've literally been here before!

I was supposed to write about what to do when the world ends but the market kept going down like there was no end!

It may also seem like the FUD is just neverending right now with all those issues with bitcoin.

But let's go back to 2017, to see if there's anything "new":

I will assume that you're hip to the latest in FUD news relating to BTC so I will only link to the 2017 ones.

  • The latest flavor of FUD is bitcoin being hackable because of just how much was recovered from the Colonial Pipeline hack ransom money...
  • China is banning bitcoin...AGAIN!
  • Bitcoin causes global warming?!
  • You're gonna have to pay taxes on your bitcoin gains!
  • But no, it's just the whales and institutions manipulating the market!
  • But yeah, only criminals really use bitcoin, anyway.
  • But wait! A South American country is here ready to accept bitcoin in a world "first".
  • And institutions are now accepting bitcoin.

In summary, we're all just living in bitcoin's 2017...and it feels just like Apple getting new features that Android has had, for years (kinda feels better...for some).

P.S. lt wouldnt be crypto without Elon Musk FUD...in 2017...

Oh yeah, feel free to hold on for dear life to your coins. Hope your hands don't feel as weak now.

l see and write about kōan-like musings everywhere, but l used to spell it as "koen" because my memory is not infallible. In layman's terms people would probably see my musings as longform/rube goldberg-esque dad jokes.
