In the last few weeks, the team behind the Brave Browser has received plenty of flack for the recent cuts to BAT token rewards/distribution. As I have previously explained in my post (https://www.publish0x.com/chronic-illness-and-crypto/why-the-brave-browser-rewards-bat-reduction-is-a-good-thing-xgdokye) the rewards reduction was vital given the current state of the world's economy. This reduction also followed the value of BAT increasing roughly 50% this month from $0.22 to $0.35.
This increase has benefitted the many hodlers of BAT but also anyone that has earned any BAT up until this last week or so when the rewards were cut. Last night it dawned on me that Brave had previously announced a partnership with TAP Network to allow BAT tokens to be exchanged for a variety of gift cards. When I checked on it today I was more than happy to see the large array of gift cards available from Nike and Adidas to Verison, Spotify, and a number of fast food and regular restaurants. TAP Network has even added donating to multiple causes since I had last checked and raffles you can enter.
When this partnership was first launched the price of BAT made it so that it took a ton of BAT to get any gift cards that to me justified the trade however the BAT price increase has really changed that idea. Covering a student Spotify monthly membership is down to 20ish BAT tokens when it was over 40 when I first checked. Personally, it has reached a price where if I found something I wanted to splurge on without having to tap into my bank account This option makes a lot more sense. Since this partnership was first announced in March and hasn't been discussed or promoted I wanted to let yall know about this option especially if the price of BAT continues to rise!
