DRAGONS

The Mythical Dragons join the fray, this weekly battle challenge features dragons of any kind!

This isn't even a question.Β of courseΒ I have to use a Kitty.

With +2 Speed, True Strike, and Tank Heal, Kitty is a force to be reckoned with, and I happened to have one still on rent from a series of brawls from yesterday!

For this one, since it's an entire Splinter, I'll be going over my lineup choices, instead of my usual stats, costs, and modifiers. The battle is Fire / Dragon, with 34 Mana and No Armor.

Position 1:

I wanted something that would absolutely punish my opponent's melee attackers, without losing too much in its loss of Armor. I decided the Thorny Chwala would be a solid choice in case my opponent chose a Shield enemy.

Capitalizing on Kitty's speed and heals, I knew I would get at least a few hits in and a few thorns before Chwala went down.

Position 2

Β

Β

One of my favorite Fire cards at level 1, I had to throw in this convenient, tanky, and powerful, fast attacker as position 2. I figured he'd get lots of hits in, and be incredibly tanky with Kitty's +2 Speed.

Position 3

Β

Β

A personal murder blender, I figured Vigilator would be a solid ranged pick which could pivot into a more offensive attacking position. Due to the amount of Shield cards my opponent used though, Vigilator did... well, nothing. That's okay though, he was back-up.

Position 4

Β

Β

Knowing I'd most likely face another Serpentine Spy, or a Kobold Miner, I had to choose between protecting my Spy from another Spy, or a Miner, I chose the Spy, as I figured most people like to go Spy over Miner in these types of situations, but I was really worried my opponent would go both...

Position 5

Β

I took a risk on Serpentine Spy, with only a little bit of mana left, knowing that he might get entirely wiped by any sneak attacker my opponent played, but he filled out my last bit of remaining mana nicely, and gave me a lot of offensive pressure. I was lucky my opponent did not throw in a sneak, and instead chose another Serpentine Spy.

34 Mana, No Armor Modifier, Fire and Dragon Splinters

I face a Brighton Bloom, which, given Kitty's True Strike, is not all that threatening.

What it really came down to though was the +2 Speed, Chain Golem just could not cut it and hit my 7 Speed Finneas, and that's what gave me the edge I needed to take it.

That being said, even if heΒ hadΒ hit my Fineas, he would've run into Vigilator hitting 2 damage a turn instead of Fineas' 1. Vigilator was a solid backup to have.
